Carson stood and stretched, taking a quick look in at Radek as he left his lab. There was so much to do, and he was worried for his friend, but now he was starving.
Rodney leaned into the touch, again glad that somehow in all this mess, Carson had managed to stay safe. The food smelled good, indeed, and he hoped it didn't have lemon in it. He really could do with a hot meal.
"Can we grab something and eat in my rooms?" he suggested as Carson gently shoved him forward. "I'd like some time with you alone," he added, lowering his voice. He didn't have anything particular in mind, but he didn't want to sit in a crowded room where they couldn't touch.
Carson nodded, smiling at Rodney's request. "Aye, we can do that," he said. "Or at my place, as you prefer." They advanced through the queue and gathered trays with stew, bread, drinks, and dessert -- blue jello for Rodney and an Athosian fruit of some sort for himself. "Shall we be off, then?" He tilted his head toward the door.
Rodney nodded, aware of the curious glances following them as they headed out. He was too tired and hungry to actually care. His stomach was growling again as they walked through the corridors and hallways, still a scene of destruction.
"My place," he said, absentmindedly, his eyes wandering up to broken lights, making a mental note to send someone to fix them as soon as possible. "It's closer."
Carson followed Rodney along. "Are you feeling all right?" he asked? "You're looking a bit out of it today. I thought you'd slept better than I did, getting up all night to check on Radek."
"I think I woke half of the times, too," Rodney said, focussing back on the way ahead. He tilted his head, "And my back is killing me. I think, we need a bigger bed."
