In 2007 (during Valentine's Day), I posted my Top 5 character ships (it's here). Now, I saw the same meme floating around some of my flist journals, but it is not Top 5 but Top 7

I have to say being a total Brian/Justin shipper and everything I still could live with the series final as it was. It wouldn't have been like them if they'd really married somehow (as hard as that's to admit) and like you said there's still the possibility in a few months or years they'll end up together again. It wasn't really a breakup with bad moods on either one or both sides so I just totally believe in their happy end (we're just not allowed to see it unfortunately). ;-)
oh, i would still think that they get it together in the end. just like carrie and mr. big, it takes them years to finally be together. justin might even shred the idea of being married (after he experienced new york and all) or the other way around (brian think that marriage is grand ^_^).
i am not saying that i totally hate the finale (i haven't really seen it, but let's just say that i've checked the DVD to skip just to that scene *lol*) ... but i wish they can be resolve in a different way. to be honest, i will probably prefer they do not have to approach the marriage storyline only to pull it off in the end. besides, it feels like brian is asking only because he is afraid of losing justin all over again. so there, it is the marriage plot that i might be opposed to.
but hey, i love happy end. so i will rewrite the whole brian/justin storyline in my head if i have to *lol*
Yeah I wasn't really happy with the marriage plot myself... It was somehow needless to have Brian suddenly change his mind regarding all this marriage thing just to put it off in the end again... dunno...
that's what i meant. the marriage thing seems off and rushed ... and then the writers just pulled it off again in the end. i think there are so many storylines that are better than that direction, you know.
oh, well, i still need to watch those 10 episodes. wish me luck :D
For ONCE, a pairing that do NOT have to experience the “torture” of on-again-off-again plot.
You know, I have always loved this Chandler/Monica fiercely, and I don't think I ever consciously realized why. That is so true! They DON'T go through all the hoops, the show had Ross/Rachel for that. Monica and Chandler just have an actual relationship that grows throughout the show even with it's natural ups and downs. ♥
Oh Steve and Miranda. ♥♥♥ I love this ship so much. Same goes for Logan/Veronica, they were so amazing. I'm ignoring most of S3 here, obviously.
Mulder/Scully isn't even a question, it's the ship to end all ships. BUT! Yay for Nathan/Nikki shipping!!! :D :D That was one of the few couples on the show I actually had shippy feelings for, and they weren't even technically together! :D
whoaaaa ... you're a nathan/nikki fan as well?? i absolutely thought their scenes were sizzling hot. i always wish they share more scenes. and yeah, they're not even technically together, but a girl can wish :D
mulder and scully is without a doubt a true classic. it starts the whole ship and ends the whole ship basically (lol)
and yes, chandler and monica is one of VERY RARE pairings that just come together and grow together. we don't have to suffer the exhausting on-again-off-again plot. it's so great to see something "real", where a couple can face their ups and downs without having to break up.
steve and miranda is love (i am ignoring that plot on the movie version *lol*). and i stopped watching VM after season 2 because i knew that the writers were breaking them again on season 3
Ohhh I loved Monica & Chandler! I was never that interested in Rachel & Ross past the first season or two. It just got old, the back and forth! :( I think Monica & Chandler came together perfectly and it was just so sweet! I remember that one episode when she tried to cheer him up with the turkey on her head and he blurted out "I love you!". It just felt right, even though I'm not sure they were officially together at that point? I don't remember that detail.
yeah, everybody is like Ross and Rachel shippers but i had my eyes on Chandler/Monica since the very beginning. their coming together is just so very sweet.
oh, that episode is very dear!!! though it kinda totally messed up the storyline about when they first met, but still ... (sigh). they have already seen each other exclusively but they haven't told anybody about it, and it was the first time chandler said "i love you" to monica
i know, i know ... i was contemplating of buffy and spike when i made this list, honestly. but after so much thoughts, even though i love them so very much, it's a bit pale to the ten pairings that i put here.
I know my decision to not even think about Season five..past like the first three episodes..made my life so much better, honestly, to me, it doesn't even exist. But I did totally call the ending before the episode even aired, to the point that someone who had seen it was almost scared at how I even nailed the dialogue. But Brian had repeated that particular line in pretty much every season..I knew he's day it again
( ... )
The "I Love You" they kind of..well, the TIMING of it..how can I put this, it would have had a bigger impact if he had said it at a different time..I remember a lot of people felt cheated by it.
I agree ... I know that a big event, traumatic event (say like 9/11) can make somebody change. Including saying "I love you". Let's just say that I take this one scene as a present ... even if it has less impact considering the timing. Just to hear Brian says it, it's enough, EVEN if like you, i also felt a bit cheated by it.
The whole marriage thing was just *meh* and there are two words that Brian Kinney should never say..."My Prince"
OMG!!! Tell me about it!! I just saw that episode this morning and I had this bitter taste on my mouth when I heard it. I was like, "ooookaaaaaay, what are the writers doing?? are they fucking crazy??" i cannot believe that is coming out of Brian Kinney's mouth. and don't forget the line of "I am taking a chance on love". *Roll eyes to the ceiling* ...
Add in Justin's yet once again..I want you to change..

Add in Justin's yet once again..I want you to change..wait, you changed and I don't like it.
you know, after watching the last two episodes, i don't think justin wanted brian to change. he wanted brian to settle down but not change entirely. that is how i see it. and to be honest, i can understand why justin doesn't like it. heck, if i was justin, i would be too. that is not the man i want to marry
but the whole wedding/marriage proposal is wrong anyway.
Oh he definitely wanted him to change, that's why he left yet once again, he thought that just because he was back from California things would be different, but they weren't and most of that is the writers and producers fault, which I'll get to at the end of this comment
