... My Top 10 Favorite TV Pairing ...

Aug 26, 2008 13:47

In 2007 (during Valentine's Day), I posted my Top 5 character ships (it's here). Now, I saw the same meme floating around some of my flist journals, but it is not Top 5 but Top 7.

Well, I think I want to do this again, based on the fact that I have watched some new shows since 2007 and the standing of my current favorite pairings have slightly changed. BUT, this time I am going to do Top 10 AND I will strict myself on TV shows rather than having movies/books as well (Just FYI, when talk about movie pairings, Ron/Hermione is still number 1 *g*)

1. List your top seven ten character ships
2. Put all of them in order of your love for them; 7 10 to 1, 1 being your main fixation.
3. Name the movie/ TV show that they're in.
4. Supply photos for said people.
5. Tag seven people.

10. Michael and Sara (Prison Break)
Sure, it is called Prison Break, and it is supposed to be the story between brothers. But let’s face it, Michael and Sara is another core of the show. Their strong, undeniable love for one another, with all the angst, is actually what keeps the show going as well. Besides, what is life without a meaning … and for Michael, she is part of the whole answer. His savior.

09. Michael and Ben (Queer As Folk)
I am so happy for a couple that stays together from the moment they hook up until the very end of the show. I think Ben is really good for Michael; he is tender, loving, and patient. And Michael, for once, stands up for what he wants because of Ben. He doesn’t care that Ben is positive, he loves him. Plus they dance with REO’s Speedwagon “Can’t Fight the Feeling” - which as corny as it is, looks very sweet *lol*

08. Derek and Meredith (Grey’s Anatomy)
Despite her being whiny and he is a jerk sometimes (he DID approach her when he was still married!) but somehow they are very close to my heart. I feel like I can be as messed up as Meredith (though not whiny) and if she can find someone who accepts her despite her constant try to push him away, then I can really believe in love. Derek and Meredith have that chemistry and I truly hope the writers will not pull off the drama of exhausting on-again-off-again plot for them. They deserve happiness.

07. Chandler and Monica (Friends)
OMG!!! For ONCE, a pairing that do NOT have to experience the “torture” of on-again-off-again plot. Since they get together, the relationship is just getting stronger until the perfect goodbye on the show finale. I think Chandler and Monica compliment each other. He calms her high maintenance profile while she helps him grow up to be a wonderful understanding man.

06. Steve and Miranda (Sex and the City)
I always love pairing in which each lets the other to be the best they can be without trying to change anything. Steve and Miranda is another fine example. Though in the beginning, Steve suffers from insecurity but as they both “grow” up, they become the best partner. Steve makes Miranda shreds part of her sarcasm towards love and life while Miranda gives Steve confidence he needs.

05. Logan and Veronica (Veronica Mars)
I blame the writers for every single stupid reason for these two to be apart. Because Logan and Veronica is epic. Messed up boy meets kind-hearted girl. It’s a great love story.

04. Pacey and Joey (Dawson’s Creek)
The first “teenager” love that steals my heart. They are the best of friends and it makes their relationship very warm and tender. The chemistry is flawless. What is more important, Pacey accepts Joey as she is and he lets her to be the best person that she can be. It’s the best kind of love ever is … and thank GOD for the perfect show finale, where for ONCE the heroine falls for the side-kick rather than the hero!

03. Doug and Carol (ER)
The first “mature” relationship I ever encounter on television. Carol is the one for Doug and Doug is Carol’s soulmate. Their journey to finding love is not simple but when they’re together, it’s like everything fall right into place. They offer comfort to one another, they offer support to one another … plus they have one of the best reunions on television.

02. Brian and Justin (Queer As Folk)
Despite the show finale (and I am a firm believer of happy ending, so I’ll just say that there is still a possibility in the future for them; it’s not like it’s written in the stars that they will be forever apart!), Brian and Justin grabs my heart since the first go. Even with the age gap and the issues that surfaced in their “not-so-calm” relationship, Brian and Justin have chemistry that burns the screen. Plus they help each other grow; Justin opens Brian’s heart to love and Brian teaches Justin to be the best he can be. It’s love … Now, let me just pretend that Season 5 NEVER EXISTS (except for that part where Brian finally says "I love you")

01. Mulder and Scully (The X-Files)
Because they are still the BEST PAIRING ever written for a TV show. Period. Their relationship is built perfectly, very good timing, very amazing “UST” scenes. It all leave fans in longing which makes every single scene worth savoring. Honestly, I think Mulder/Scully is a classic case of flawless relationship on TV and there will be years before any other couple even come close.

..... and because I saw alias_jems doing this .... I thought, WHY NOT??

RUNNERS-UP OR THOSE WHO DESERVES THE WORD “POSSIBILITY”: DEAD RELATIONSHIP OR OTHERWISE

Runner-Up #4
Kate and Sawyer (Lost)
The only reason why they are in runner up is because I DON’T WATCH LOST except for the 1st season - and I love what I see of the two of them. I have no idea what happens between Kate and Sawyer now. Lost does not appeal me and I will not endure the show just because of the couple. BUT, like I said, I love what I saw on season 1 and I think they’re scorching hot. So there …

Runner-Up #3
Mark and Addison (Grey’s Anatomy)
Another couple that SHOULD’VE BEEN … I think they are more that sizzling, they are HOT together. BUT, let Addison goes to L.A. and Mark stays in Seattle (sigh). It is totally unfair for a great possible love story to die before it even starts

Runner-Up #2
House and Cameron (House M.D.)
We all know that this couple will never be, based on the course of what the show is turning (sigh). Just one of those couples that crash and burn in the hand of writers, I guess. I still think that Cam is a good match for House and their “eye-sex” scenes are always yummy to watch

Runner-Up #1
Nathan and Nikki (Heroes)
He is a politician, she is a stripper. Gosh, is there any sexier and yummier plot than that? I think whenever Nathan and Nikki/Jessica share scenes, they sizzle. I don’t know what will happen in Season 3 but I truly hope that they will share more scenes together, even if Ali Larter will not be as Nikki *lol*

Now, I still have about 10 episodes to watch on QaF season 5. But like inthekeyofd said, I must prepared myself. I am a bit torn, actually. I know what will happen, I think the storyline sucks, especially when it comes to Brian/Justin (except for finally watching Brian says "I love you"). The writers totally screw that one over. But despite everything sucky, I need to finish this show. I need to properly say goodbye even if I will end up erasing season 5 from my memory (except for the three little words ^_^)

And finally ... I got my salary (sigh). But it will definitely just go down the drain because I owe my Dad money for my pilgrimage trip. To be honest, I borrow his money quite a lot, I practically have NOTHING for saving this month (aaarghhhh!!!). THANK GOD that September is coming, meaning that I will face the Holy Month of Ramadhan AND the Holy Idul Fitri on October 1st. Because in Indonesia, having Holy Idul Fitri means additional one month salary for us Muslims. Isn't that neat? ^_^

OOT: QaF totally rekindles my obsession with Garbage songs! Why? Because this show uses "You Look So Fine" (which I absolutely love) during that King of Babylon episode. Sigh
