Why do I have so much trouble writing anything these days? I feel as though I've lost my "voice." I've got plenty of thoughts piling up in my head, but no outlet. Ever have one of those low days where you could really use a little pick-me-up, like a kind word from a friend or an unexpected compliment?
Instead, I got a rejection letter for a manuscript I sent out over a year ago.

On the other hand, at that point I just kinda had to laugh, so I guess the effect was the same. -

I miss livejournal. The immediacy of modern incarnations of social media (Facebook, Twitter, whatever new thing the kids are into) is great, but sometimes it feels like everything's reduced to a "like." Faltering Right Out the Gate
Apparently it's a good idea to have a strong plotline and characters you enjoy writing about for NaNoWriMo, because otherwise you start to falter just a few days in. I'm now faced with the task of deciding whether to scrap my first chapter and start fresh, or keep going with what I've got. Neither option sounds terribly appealing.

No Direction
Well, phooey. I'm at 2300-some words with my little short story I've started. I've got the premise down and I like the beginning, but now I'm a little stymied. I don't really know where to go with it. Anyone else ever have this problem?
