calling the flist! geoblockers -- how to avoid?

Flist! Google has failed me! Do any of you know of a method or tutorial for how to fake an IP address to get around these horrible geoblocking things that for instance prevent you from watching Merlin clips on the BBC website if you are browsing from the US?

Help!

PS: by way of thank you, recs!

I'm loving that girl!Merlin AU too, even though it's not normally my kind of thing at all. It just makes me gooey inside.

As for the IP issue, is this any help? Or possibly this?

I found a site with rapidshare links for the whole season----no commercials and HD quality, and with a paid account at Rapidshare and a downthemall add-on for Firefox, you can dl the whole batch at once ( ... )

Aw, thank you so much; actually I have all the eps -- I am looking for a more general solution for watching the tiny little extra clips etc that they offer on the bbc website, for instance. :D

I used something called Hotspot Shield to watch the hulu.com episodes that are restricted to US-only. I'm sorry I don't have a link handy, but the program is free and it works!

I use a Mac and Hotspot Shield (easily Googlable) is entirely great and Mac-simple to use.

I've tried getting to UK- and US-specific content with free proxy servers, but they were always either blocked or too slow or otherwise not working. Sorry I can't be more help, except to commiserate. :(

(I hope someone here offers a good solution, so far I've relied on helpful fans putting up stuff elsewhere, but haven't looked for Merlin clips yet.)

This only works for the US, I think. UltraSurf. It was invented for people in places like China so they could get around their firewalls. Works like a charm for me so I can get around the stupid restrictions on US sites, too. :)

Unfortunately I need something that'll work for Linux, and that looks like it's only for Windows.
