Vidding with high-res source

Aug 17, 2006 23:07

This is mainly a post-mortem describing how I made Bukowski, my House vid from this year's VVC, using extremely high-resolution source. I'll apologize in advance -- I really can't provide individual help for anyone trying to do this or troubleshoot it, because I just don't have time. I hope this will be useful as a starting point and a leg-up for ( Read more... )

I was noticing how crisp your source looked! I appreciated it then, but I appreciate it even more now that I know how terrifyingly complicated it is. *g*

I'm not a vidder, but I downloaded and watched the vid yesterday and loved it-- the song is so incredibly appropriate, and the image quality and technical proficiency are out of this world--definitely one of the two most professional looking vids I've ever seen! Thank you for sharing it. ♥

I can't believe what you're willing to put yourself through. Sheesh! The vid is absolutely gorgeous, though, in more ways than one. Must watch again soon.

Someday I will have a RAID array, dammit. Until then, it's less shiny source for me.

(here via metafandom)

This is all way above the level I'm current working on as far as vidding goes (my main concern right now is, "I wish Windows Movie Maker would stop crashing on me"), but still, thank you for putting this guide together for us!

The results really look good ("good" as in, "like something off a professionally-made DVD") too, judged by that Bukowski vid. *is impressed*

Mother of God.

I'm beginning to have some sense for how hard vidding is, simply as an art form (e.g. how much work it takes to make a vid feel effortless for the viewer) -- but I had no idea how #$%^& complicated the technique was, too.

Writing entire libraries of books would be easy in comparison!
