Yesterday, I took Luigi to the vet, because we recently started noticing his fur getting thin in patches and that he has a lot of scabs and a weird smell to him. Turns out he has an allergic reaction to something and has scratching himself raw. The vet also showed me patches where he had bitten off his fur, ripped it out. Poor boy. :( I know all

Poor Luigi, I hope the meds help him feel better. Any idea what might be causing the allergy? Any changes in the house lately? New soap/air freshener/etc.?

They've had fleas, vet thinks it might be that.

Poor, poor thing! Is there any way to figure out what he is allergic to?

We recently had to treat them for fleas, it's possibly a reaction. He had similar issues when we got him from the shelter, to the point where he had surgery, because he kept scratching his neck open.

The vet seemed pretty sure he'll be just fine, and he seems to be scratching less already.
