Two questions

Question 1: I've come to notice that I actually do have eye contact issues, but only when it comes to men. Is it possible for this to be gender specific?

Question 2: I'm going to the bookstore today. Any good books on AS I should look for?

eyes, books

1. I am sure there is a reason for it, as I can vary as to who I have difficulty with eye contact.

2. If you can afford it, here's the book I recently bought at Amazon:

I presume you're female; if I'm correct, please try "Aspergirls" by Rudy Simone. It was an eye opener for me and just really made me feel like I wasn't alone.

Thank you for that recommendation. I've ordered it for my Aspie daughters but I think I'll have a good read first!

I have eye contact issues with men, but that is linked to an underlying chronic inability to understand how men think or react to me. Not making eye contact is the safe option of avoiding situations where men 'get the wrong idea' or expect me to behave in an unknown fashion.

They're written from a male perspective, but John Elder Robison's books are pretty good. One is Look Me in the Eye: My Life with Asperger's Syndrome and the other is Be Different: Adventures of a Free-Range Aspergian.

1. I haven't really thought of it.
2. "Freaks, Geeks, and Asperger's Syndrome: A User Guide for Adolescense" by Luke Jackson
