There are some psychologists who would lose objectivity when told about your work. The good ones wouldn't. If you have a choice of psychologists, I'd recommend telling each one you see, and keep shopping around until you find one who sees your work in its proper perspective.
I've never worked in the sex industry. I've never considered it. I've met women on the Internet who, when informed of my hobby of tying and teasing women, asked whether I charge for my services. I've always said no: even the question never tempted me.
Mentioning to a psychologist that you work in the sex industry would risk the possibility of them being judgmental morally, and of their preconceived ideas of sex workers affecting how they treat you. I would worry that a psychologist might assume that you can't be on the spectrum if you're a sex worker, because sex work is so interpersonal and because autistics are stereotyped as unsexy. I would particularly worry if you were in a highly religious location or seeing a psychologist with a religious affiliation (other than a queer-positive church).
i don't think where i live is very religious.. but that doesn't mean that my town is full of le crazy. perhaps.. perhaps i'll be able to judge my potential psychologist well enough to know if i should mention it or not. thanks for your input!
I would if I liked my body. I'm a bit overweight now although I enjoy performing for my boyfriend. I'm more at ease with him because I love him and we've dated for years.
But yeah, I'd do vids/photo shoots/etc if I was thinner and looked good. Specially since I have awesome boobs.
i know how you feel.. i have battled with my weight for quite a long time.. i've been on and off with camming, so i seem to have been doing it more when i feel better about myself and i've been losing weight. *highfive* for great boobs! :)
