Everyone except my most recent request now has a postcard, though one other, which was written on the plane to London, has yet to be mailed (haven't yet found a place to buy British postage). Um...Not going to update now. Berlin was lovely.

Can I just say how much more like Italy Berlin is than Munich from an olfactory perspective? That whole German cleanliness/personal hygine rep they´ve got just isn´t being lived up to here in the capital of the nation ( Read more... )

Hey, It seems like a lot of the time Ive got extra time to kill, so Ive taken to keeping a stockpile of postcards around that I tend to fill out on trains, or while Im having lunch, etc., and Ive pretty much run out of people whose addresses I know. So, last time I booted up my computer I got the black screen of death, covered in incomprehensible bone-white characters. This screen flickered momentarily, then resolved into a single, despair-inducing line:

So, this morning the brakes failed on my car. I noticed as I approached my first stoplight of the morning-I pushed down on the breaks and my foot went right to the floor. Having the breaks go out on your car is, I have learned, not a fun experience. Luckily, my car has a handbrake. As a result, I am in class rather than swapping insurance ( Read more... )
