I'm terribly sorry to hear about Samuel. He's certainly getting things started the hard way. I'm glad they have a diagnosis and glad he's in good hands. I myself have never been picky about the means of a good solution, so skilled hands and interventions are all most welcome.

If a parallel provides you some comfort, I was given a diagnosis as grim as anything you're seeing for Samuel in the early months of my life because I developed chronic pneumonia. Infants are surprisingly resilient in many cases, and I hope Samuel is just such an infant. He has great folks taking care of him, so stay strong, keep the coffee coming to Mrs. A_N and let us know if we can offer any help.

Wow...what an amazing combination of consultations. I hope his recovery will be easy, and thank goodness the little guy won't remember a bit of it. We'll be thinking of him, and Mrs. A_N, keeping watch.

Thanks a lot.

We have been really fortunate that
1. all the proper pediatric specialists are already there at All Children's
2. insurance is not a problem (as it is with many folks). Reading the personal stories of infants with similar conditions (and their mommy's and daddy's anguish trying to orchestrate proper diagnosis and treatment - especially when they live at great distance from proper resources. Sad.

We're thinking of you (pl) as well :-) wishing that answers, facilities and providers were as available to you.
