our 28 day old baby, Samuel, is an inpatient at Children's ...

... Hospital.

Please pray (or whatever you might do) on behalf of Samuel.

I've had tubes, lines, monitors and IV's many times, but seeing tiny Samuel hooked up with feeding tube, IV, O2 monitor, and heartrate monitor yesterday afternoon made me very sad.

He had an endoscopic examination down his throat to his larynx last Friday morning. Seeing the results, they would not let him come home. Mrs. A_N is staying with him 24 hrs a day since, of course. The nursing staff just does not have the liberty to give him the 24 hr attention we feel a teeny tiny baby should have.

The endo pictures are clear - it is very likely he needs surgical intervention, and soon. What was theorized, prior to the endoscopic exam, to be common Laryngolmalacia, is much more serious.

We have been concerned about his breathing noises and swallowing difficulty since day one, when he came home from the hospital. The congenital condition that was *just now* discovered could have turned life-threatening without warning at any time over these first four weeks of his young life.

We feel so blessed that the condition has been found, without having THAT crisis, and that we're on the way to correction. We're also blessed that our cincumstances are such that I can be at home full time to care for our five month old baby girl (our older foster child) while Mrs A_N is at the hospital

We're waiting for the pronouncement today (Monday) from the cardio-thoracic surgeon as to what needs to be done.

SO ... your thoughts and prayers are welcomed - for correction via the fine skills and tools of the medical professionals ... or ... on the other hand, a supernatural intervention for complete healing would be just fine also - if you would consider mentioning that as an
alternative.
