baby Samuel's surgery this afternoon
Feb 20, 2008 07:08
Our Samuel (one month old) has chest surgery this afternoon to move his aorta away from his trachea - to resolve compression of the airway.
If you're curious about the diagnosis, please see a
teaching case from the Univ of Hawaii pediatrics.
The best xray is the one entitled "View esophagram" that clearly shows the squashed trachea (my highly technical term) about a third of the way down.
We solicit your thoughts, prayers, and good wishes for the success of the procedure and for our peace and confidence. We are
not leaning on our own understanding
today.
