what's the source for this date being the deathday of Bond? Surely that wasn't something that Ian Fleming left behind, was it? I always figured that in canon he'd have died on the job long before that.

Or is that a snide reference to a really bad Bond film or something?

February 1989 was the day James Bond died.

Non, something Mr. and Mrs. Bond left behind I'd think.

I always figured that in canon he'd have died on the job long before that.
