Yay! A Quilting Saturday!

Yesterday I had a breakthrough. Finally! After about 5 weeks of NO sewing or quilting, I worked on the Carpenter's Star! I know that doesn't seem like much, but I've spent a lot of time writing about my block against that project, and my pattern of not letting myself do things I really enjoy ( Read more... )

Looks lovely Kathryn. Just lovely. You have Phoebe to keep you company while quilting, and I have Simon who his my companion when I draw.

Thanks, Barbara! I changed the lightness on some of the photos so you might want to look again.

Love the Carpenter's Star block! It is so full of wonderfully bright colors. You should know by now if a cat hears the sewing machine being used it is darn well going to be there to sit on anything you make. LOL!

I am taking a small break from work to refill my glass and get something to nibble on.

yep, you are so right about cats! Or if you put a quilt down, a cat's on it faster than you can say "Here Kitty, kitty!"

I'm nearly done with this Star. When the sun moves from the window, I'll cut out the last border and attach it -- the it will be Bear's to work on!

she really is, I especially love the freckles on her nose, and her harlequin face. Can't see it in the photo.

I love that border, too! Now I have to put the next one on, which is nearly three times as wide.

How beautiful! I know what you mean about a block on doing something, even though it is half finished - I have a jumper half-knitted in a bag, and just at the moment I will do anything to avoid it.

So congrats on getting back to your quilting.

Thank you! I'm glad that you "get" it. I hate having unfinished objects (UFO's)!
