Thanks for your comments on the quilt. I always feel like my quilts are somehow inferior because I tend to stick to patchwork -- doing checkerboards (like this one) or diagonals. They all take time and skill, but so many people make these intricate quilts. Oh well.
And i'm partial to Bella too. She has such a HUGE personality! She makes me laugh several times a day, and that's a good thing.
I wondered what you meant... so glad I looked down and got the explanation!
No, Alice stays warm. There is one room that stays warm, and it is the quilting room, with Emmie's bed in it. both cats "live" in there, on her bed. The dogs can't get in (Bella used to get through the cat flap in the door, but she gained a pound or two and now she can't! thank God!)
When it is bitterly cold, we do have a nice coat that he wears, and since the heat pump is not working, he has worn it for the last three days. He quite likes it, but hates the taking off and putting on of it. At first, he thought he was crippled when he had it on. If it has been a long time since he had to wear it, he still gets that "I can't move because I am trapped!" look, and stands perfectly still! Funny dogs.

I love Bella's coat, too.

Bella is so funny -- she loves to wear coats and sweaters. I've never known a dog to be so cold blooded! She is always shivering without them.
