It's only beginning to sink in that the screenings and the awards have all taken place. It's been so amazing... I'm sure I'll be crying a little throughout the day. Although I had hopes, I never expected that the film would win an award, nevermind two. One from the audience and a second from women in film. It won the awards because it's a very good film. Good story, good editing and a nice sense of humour to lighten up the theme. It all came together well.
One pitfall to watch out for, and I suspect that you're bright enough to not fall into it, is when someone has a big hit early on in their career they tend to find they have a hesitation when working on their next few.
Also don't ever believe that you can do no wrong no matter how many people give you that impression. The reason this is a good film is because you worked very hard on it and made some good creative decisions.

Being friendly and pretty helps a bit too. (My Goddess,y ou even look pretty with chicken pox.)

While reading this, I managed to get my tongue suction stuck into a bottle I was drinking from. Scary!

You're amazing, you've obviously found the right path. Doing so well in your masters and then with this. My students at school want to see it - though I'm not sure I want them to (maybe later after they're not in my school). The whole armpit/dumpster thing makes me think of student's parental upset.

I didn't hear about the awards before I saw this post. That's great! I thought the film was amazing, and I'm glad to see that it's getting recognized. When it goes touring, I will tell all my friends elsewhere to see it. I really like the way you told the story, I love how positive and also honest it is.
