We've all been there. Stuck at a bar, stranded with those who were quite recently strangers, trapped by their horrible / offensive / pointless attempts at humor. In most cases you can walked away, duck out, retreat since you're not being paid to be there. I was too much in shock, being half Polish, that's where you expect the offense to come from once the overly simple jokes start. But no, they completely flanked the Maginot Line and I was caught off guard, left staring into my scotch and water.
