Bleh!

I had plans today. They weren't big plans, or lengthy plans. They were important plans but they weren't immediate plans. Now, my plans may come to naught, because I feel like crap. I should be better tomorrow (just in time for someone else's plans for me). I may well even feel better tonight, just in time for my plans to be rendered moot for the ( Read more... )

*gentle pettings and lots of sympathy*

My moontime is due in a few more days, and I'm having lower back achiness and feeling cold and sleepy. I'm going to go have a nap with the mattress pad turned up to high...

I hope you will feel better soonly.

Thanks. I'm sure it will pass in a day or less, but today is very much not fun.

And here's a semi-random question for you, since you know a lot more about the ins and outs of the body-food relationship than I do: do you have any idea why it is that for 3-7 days before I start menstruating, along with the first day of bleeding, my body craves simple sugars (candy and doughnuts especially) but complex sugars like fruits are off-putting?

Might be low blood sugar. When I forget to eat and mine drops I want SUGARSUGARSUGAR, but if I eat it I feel worse quick since my pancreas overresponds. I do best having protein and fat when I get that. It's really hard to make myself do it,when I want sweets, but it sure helps me feel better. For some ppl blood sugar control is harder to maintain just before moontime and when it's starting. I am pretty aggressive about making sure I eat plenty that week, and that helps me avoid 90% of the cravings.

Oh, if it's chocolate you crave, it could be low magnesium, too. I make sure to have extra cal and mag the week before.

It may be blood sugar. Usually I just ignore it, because it's not that bad, but this month is apparently a doozy. I still think it's weird that normally fruit will take care of blood sugar issues, but for these few days, it's all about the simple sugars (and they actually seem to help, at least they have today).
