My moontime is due in a few more days, and I'm having lower back achiness and feeling cold and sleepy. I'm going to go have a nap with the mattress pad turned up to high...
I hope you will feel better soonly.

Thanks. I'm sure it will pass in a day or less, but today is very much not fun.
And here's a semi-random question for you, since you know a lot more about the ins and outs of the body-food relationship than I do: do you have any idea why it is that for 3-7 days before I start menstruating, along with the first day of bleeding, my body craves simple sugars (candy and doughnuts especially) but complex sugars like fruits are off-putting?

Oh, if it's chocolate you crave, it could be low magnesium, too. I make sure to have extra cal and mag the week before.

Does making sure to eat on a schedule help with the cravings? *pet*

Normally, eating on a schedule (and being mindful of what's been in my diet for the few days before so that it's well balanced) works well. The few days when I'm PMSing, though, my appetite is gone and if I try eating full meals it will make me sick, so I have to do more "grazing," a small snack of whatever (trail mix, half a sandwich, a yogurt cup, whatever) every 15-30 minutes. It probably does screw with my metabolism and vitamin/mineral levels a bit, but it's better than going on a liquid diet (no matter how enriched some of the juices are) for three days.
