Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Low little tables surrounded by comfortable couches littered the large room. There was a bar on the far right corner lit by dimmed blue lights, glinting of the bottles of alcohol. A man wearing a white long-sleeved button-down shirt was tending it, mixing differently colored liquids into a small glass. Next to the bar was a flamboyant wooden door where a sign bearing the words ‘employees lounge’ hung. Another door labeled as kitchen could be found on the other side of the bar. All the lights were low and came from the lamps that lit each table. There was an elevated alcove across from the bar with a solitary table surrounded by a couch and an armchair and a blondish young man sat on the couch, legs crossed, hands fingering the rim of a wine glass. There weren’t much people around besides the bartender and the blondish man. There was only the manager who was bowed politely at his post at the door.
Ohno looked around with wide eyes. What kind of a place was this? He cowered behind Jun’s back, though actually a few steps away. Was this some kind of yakuza place? Was Jun going to sell him? His feet froze at the thought and Akanishi bumped lightly into him.
“Wh-what is this place?” He whispered to Akanishi.
“It’s a host club, sir. Jun-sama often comes here though I’m not entirely sure as to why he brought you here.”
Ohno’s face paled and he immediately stared at his shoes. He bit his lip and tried his very best to ignore the war going on in his stomach. An uncomfortable prickle climbed the back of his neck and decided to settle there, leaving Ohno fidgeting with the hem of his shirt.
“Boy! Get your ass over here!”
The loud command startled him and he realized that Jun was already gone and Akanishi was no longer in sight. He ran and nearly tripped on his way to the alcove, a bright flush decorating his cheeks. As he passed by the bar his gaze caught the bartender’s and for a split second, they looked at each other appraisingly. The bartender smiled and Ohno’s blush deepened. The bartender had a nice smile, Ohno thought. It was warm yet charming and the light reached his eyes. Not many people smiled like that nowadays. This guy was definitely something.

Sho smiled at the passing boy. He looked on with increasing curiosity as he bumped into a table and climbed onto the VIP lounge clumsily. Cute kid. Probably no more than 18. Seemed like a pretty innocent chap. But what was he doing with the Lord? Sho shrugged and poured in the last contents of a bottle of vodka into the pitcher he was mixing, finishing Lord Matsumoto’s special drink. He set the pitcher on a silver tray with a glass. He thought for a second, taking a short glance toward the lounge. He added a second glass and a pitcher of water. He wiped his hands on the red apron he wore, picked up the tray carefully and made his way to the elevated area. He picked his way carefully among the empty furniture, balancing the tray with professional familiarity and slowly climbed the four steps that led to the private lordly lounge of Lord Matsumoto Jun.
His eyes automatically sought out Nino’s but Nino was staring at the boy with cool eyes. Nino was already in his shell. Sho set down the tray and arranged all the drinks and the glasses on the table. When he had finished, he bowed politely and flashed a smile again. He felt the boy staring at him. He looked up to see the boy turn away, his face pink. Sho went back to his bar and decided it would be fun to watch what would happen in this little meeting.

Ohno stared down at his shoes. It seemed that he had developed a habit of doing this lately. But maybe it was because he felt incredibly insecure with everything that was happening. He suddenly wished he were home. And he did mean home, not the spick-and-span room he lived in now. He fought off a sudden urge to cry.
Nino was pouring Jun a drink, a professional obligation he gladly upholds. He glanced at the boy for a second and poured him some of the water that Sho had so intelligently added. He was far too young for alcohol much less Jun’s favorite world-spinning concoction. Why was that boy here anyway? He looked to be about 18 but the blush, the fluster, the overall softness set him off clearly as innocent, something quite refreshing in this club. He’s a good boy, Nino thought. Nino wanted to know more about this boy, he was interesting. But he couldn’t, not with the bastard around.
He pasted on a small smile, so small you can hardly see it. He leaned back into the couch and looked at Jun who was looking at him silently. He shifted a little and as he did so, his shirt slid slightly off his frame, exposing his neck and part of his shoulder. God, trying to look sexy was tiring. He took his glass of apple juice (yes, apple juice) and raised it slowly to his lips. He lowered his eyes and sipped gracefully. He could feel heat coming off of two gazes, two very different types of heat. One heat was intense, burning, even painful; the other heat was a flush, the kind of heat that made you sweat, two very different heats coming from two very different stares.
“Well, boy, if you’re going to impede in our privacy, you might as well introduce yourself to him.” Jun drawled, slightly irritated at all the attention Nino was paying to Ohno.
“Uh.. Y-yes…” The boy blushed even more. He bowed awkwardly, “M-my name is O-ohno S-satoshi… N-nice to m-meet you…” Ohno dared to look up. His eyes met with the blondish man’s. A funny noise left his throat suddenly and he looked down, embarrassed yet again.
Nino had to use every amount of self-control he had to keep a straight face. Ohno Satoshi, he’s adorable.
“Ninomiya Kazunari,” said Nino, bowing as well. “The pleasure is all mine, Ohno-kun.”
At the sound of his name, Ohno smiled a small smile. It was definitely better than hearing ‘boy.’
