Series: Chapter 9 - Conversations
Rating: PG15 for language and ermm nope… just the language
Pairing: increasing Ohmiya Notes: God knows I experienced both fun and hardships on this chapter. And it seems I can update now even though I have school. Yay! My skillz are improving. Thanks always to my dearest
anomic_tm    and to
chants_xan   (my darling bebe and guest beta for this chapter because I owe her) and Anna-chan for help on the Kat-tun-dom. I am increasingly liking Koki because I like his rap in Yorokubi (though I find it stupidly adorable).

Ohno scratched his head. Well, what was he to do? He'd been left alone again. He squirmed in his chair trying to find a position that wasn't painful on his back. These kinds of chairs were always uncomfortable. He looked around for a while then shrugged and contented himself with staring at a pretty frame in the wall. All he had to do was wait. He was sure that that guy would pop back in a few minutes. He was just worried that maybe he'd be forgotten. He didn't know how to get back to the Matsumoto Mansion all by himself and he didn't have Akanishi-san's number. For an eighteen year old, he was actually pretty useless.
After a few minutes of staring off into space, Ohno noticed a mosquito making its way to his chin. His brow furrowed in concentration as he tried to flick the mosquito out of its course. The mosquito gracefully evaded his attacks and landed successfully on his chin. Ohno glared at it, and carefully raised his hand to attack.

"DIE BUG!" he shouted as his hand swiftly came in contact with his jaw. "Ouch! Aw, that hurt, stupid bug."

"What are you doing?"

Ohno looked up at the voice and grinned. "I killed the bug!" he said proudly.

Nino managed a weak smile, still staring at the squashed remains of a mosquito dangling from the boy's chin. He picked the dead insect off and wiped the blood from Ohchan's chin. "I'm sorry for dragging you here."

"Yeah, quite literally, my feet are still complaining."

"I wasn't thinking straight. I was holding your hand, I guess, when I ran out. My brother's very sick and he collapsed. So I panicked. H-he's okay now."

"Oh…"

Nino nodded hazily, still staring at Ohno's chin.

"C-can I meet him?" Ohno asked shyly. Ninomiya-san's brother… Someone he would drop everything and run 20 blocks nonstop for. He had to be someone very special. He peered at Ninomiya-san, still staring at his chin dazily. "Ninomiya-san? Are you alright?" he whispered, gently taking Nino's hand into his. It was probably too invasive a gesture but Ohno didn’t care. Holding his mama's hand had always helped him in the past. Surely, holding Ninomiya’s hand now will provide the man a much needed sense of comfort. It's childish; he had to admit that much, but still… He fought off the sudden unforeseen urge to hug the man.

Nino blinked, slightly startled at the warm fingers holding his hand, at the strangely comforting tingle coursing up his hand, but regained his cool in a matter of moments, his fingers tightening gratefully around the warm ones he held. "Y-yeah, I'm fine. C'mon, I want you to meet Masaki," he muttered, more to himself than anyone, while he dragged the pale boy from his seat and down the hall into a very familiar hospital room.

~~

"WHERE ARE THEY?!" screamed a very angry Matsumoto Jun, slamming his fist into the wall. Crimson droplets of blood clung to his knuckles as he slid down onto the couch, trying and failing to calm himself down. He grabbed at his glass and downed its contents furiously. That boy going off with Nino while he was gone! He had some nerve! Nino was his! All his! That boy should be punished. Jun's hands itched. He wanted to strangle something, someone, anything, anyone. His eyes narrowed dangerously.

The manager crept apprehensively toward him, head bowed in deepest apologies. "I am sincerely sorry, Matsumoto-sama. It appears that Ninomiya-san had a very important emergency to take care of. He just suddenly ran out. The boy went with him, apparently."

Jun seized his gun suddenly from his belt and pointed it steadily at the man's head. "You know, I can kill you right now if I wanted to," he whispered slowly, voice dripping with malice. "I pay you good money to spend time with Nino and then this happens."

The manager trembled, sweat glistening at his brow, legs turning into jelly. "P-please sir. It w-won't happen again."

"I know it won't," Jun bared his teeth, slowly lowering his gun. He stood up and barked, "Akanishi! My car!"

"Yes, sir," said Akanishi, who had magically appeared, striding toward the exit.

As an irritated Jun walked toward his car, he could feel his anger rising faster by the moment. He had spent less than an hour with Nino and that time was littered with distractions from the Ohno boy. He growled to himself. He will have Nino, one way or the other, because what Jun wants, Jun gets.

“Always,” he whispered to himself, his eyes narrowing with rage.

A white curtain fluttered in the corner as a cool breeze flew in through the window, upsetting a small stack of paper, ruffling through four different heads of hair before dancing gracefully back out the window. The sun shone into the room, courtesy yet again of the curtained window, illuminating further the small spaces in the room that the fluorescent lights failed to show. A vase carrying three paper flowers stood proudly on the windowsill.

It was a good day actually. Birds were even chirping outside. But there was always something about hospital rooms that seemed to drain the energy, the happiness, the life from the people inside them. This particular room seemed no different. The people inside looked young, fresh, yet their faces were tainted with pained graveness. They were being robbed of life while trying so hard to fight for it together. Ohno's heart sank instantaneously.

"Ah, Nino, here you are," said a young man nervously, standing up from the chair next to the bed where he had been sitting, biting his nails.

"Yeah, hey, thanks for looking after him…" Nino said thankfully, clasping hands with the young man. Trusty Toma; if you're hanging off a cliff and Toma's the one standing between you and your death, you can set your heart at rest; Toma would sooner die than betray your trust. Nino gave his hand a grateful squeeze before gesturing to the quiet boy hovering near the door. "Ne, this is Ohchan. Ohchan, this is Ikuta Toma. He's a good friend of ours."

Ohno bowed shyly from behind Nino before extending his hand in greeting. "Nice to meet you. I'm Ohno Satoshi."

"Ikuta Toma. Pleasure." Toma grinned as he shook Ohno's shaking hand lightly. Noticing Ohno's pale face and the weak shaking smile, Toma had to laugh. "I'm not gonna eat you, Ohno-san! Relax!"

"He's just shy at first," Nino smiled, stripping off his long-sleeved shirt, revealing a pale gray undershirt, and tossing it under the bed, near a large black duffel bag. "But he gets really talkative once he's comfortable."

Ohno's face turned red. "Ninomiya-san!" He said half-angrily, half-embarrassedly, his lower lip sticking out into a pout. Yet after a while, his pout transformed itself into a smile and then a laugh as Toma engaged him in pleasant conversation. The morose mood had broken, and his heart started floating back up to its normal spot in his chest.

Nino waved Ohno's previous huff off as he crept closer to the pale young man on the bed. "Masaki? Are you awake?"

The pale man nodded as he opened his eyes, his lips curving up into a small smile. "Nino-san, you're here," he whispered. 'I feel much better now."

"You know I'm always here for you," Nino breathed out as he gently pushed Masaki's bangs away from his face. He had decided to pass over the Nino-san. He'll talk with him about that later, when he's not looking so gray.

"Yeah, I'm so lucky to have you." Masaki's eyes twinkled gratefully.

"Baka, I'm your brother; I like taking care of you."

"Thank you."

"I want you to meet someone. He's the one over there talking with Toma." Nino pointed out the laughing form of Ohno, sitting next to Toma near the window, both admiring the origami flowers in the vase. The dancing sunlight landed softly on Ohno's dark reddish locks, down onto his face, gently reviving the youth seemingly lost in the light cheeks. Nino stared at the delicate vision, his mouth slightly open.  A pleasant squirm started to move in his stomach, shaking him out of his semi-trance. "He's really nice. He actually reminds me a little bit of you."

"Really? Then I must meet him. Call him over."

"Ne, Ohchan! Come over here!" Nino waved animatedly to catch Ohno's attention.

Ohchan noticed and bowed politely to Toma, excusing himself from their wonderful conversation about the fascinating world of paper flowers. Nino had half expected him to curtsy, an image he found adorable in his own mind. He shook the thought violently out of his head and recovered fast enough to introduce the two people he liked so much.

"Masaki, this is Ohchan. Ohchan, meet my brother, Masaki."

"Hey, thanks for covering my shift, Tanaka-kun. I owe you," thanked Sho, patting the younger man's shoulder gratefully.

"Yo, it's cool, Sakurai-senpai! I know that it's an emergency," smiled the young bartender, giving Sho a thumbs-up as he wrapped a red apron around his waist. "You just take care."

"Well, well, you two're best friends now? Ne, Koki?" teased a young host, just coming into the room from the employee lounge. "You're sure sweet to Sakurai-senpai ne? Are you picking him over me now?"

"Taguchi! Will it kill you to stay out of my business even for just a little while?!"

"You know the answer to that, now don't you Koki," said the grinning blonde host, poking the young bartender's cheek lightly. A nerve popped.

"Fuck off, and get yourself over to table 8! Where the hell is Jin? That dude in table 7 came all the way from Hokkaido to see him for some reason! Tell him to get the fuck out here!"

"I'm already here, Koki. Sorry, I was just speaking with my uncle. He was here a while ago."

"Just get going! You're keeping your customers waiting!" said the irritated man, pushing the two hosts into the lounge proper. "And will you quit doing that Taguchi!"

"What?!"

"That!!"

"What 'that'?!"

"THAT!"

"Well, I'd love to stay and watch where this is all gonna go but I really gotta go," laughed the senpai, finally finding the hole in the conversation he needed to say goodbye. "Thanks again, Tanaka-kun. Ja."

With that, Sho ran out of the club, taking the stairs two at a time, an all too familiar worrying feeling bubbling in his stomach. Hitching his bag on his shoulder, he hurriedly walked toward the hospital too worried about his lover to realize that a blood red car was following him.
