Home again, home again, jiggety jig

So I am back home for the summer.  Yeah!  I even have a job already--fulltime, and $10 an hour.  There is distinct happiness  in my world, since Michigan's economy is horrible and jobs are extremely hard to come by--even fast food jobs!  But this is a job that will actually look good on my resume, unlike most summer jobs.  So I'm pretty happy.  ( Read more... )

I've wondered where you were. Congrats on the job!

It'll be nice to see you on lj, whenever you can stop by!

I liked Black Sheep too. Which Georgette Heyer book is your favorite?

Black Sheep was great fun--a hero who is very anti-heroic in some respects, and a heroine who is right up my alley! As for my favorite, I'm not really sure. I still haven't read all of her books, although I think I'm only 4 or 5 books away from owning all the ones that she's written. :) One of the ones that I always gravitate to though is A Convenient Marriage. I love Horry's brashness, and I love Rule's "sardonic"-ness. And I'm a sucker for for arranged marriage stories. :) How about you?

My absolute favorite is The Grand Sophy! I just love everything about it. Sophy is fabulous. She's sort of an unusual heroine in that she doesn't really grow a lot or learn anything over the course of the story. (You might say she already knows everything she needs to!) The last few chapters of the book actually had my laughing out loud, which is rare for me when I'm reading. I think most people either love it, or don't. Have you read it?

I remember reading it, but I don't actually remember a whole lot about it. I'll have to re-read it, although sadly I think my copy is back at college in a storage unit! And the library out here is...not so good, sadly. And I just finished False Colours which I really enjoyed. Highly recommend it! :D

Boo for bad libraries. :(

I'm not sure if I've read False Colours, I should look into it.

Do--I finished it and really enjoyed that one to. It was great fun. Friday's Child (the last of the 3 Heyer books I splurged and bought a couple weeks ago) was good, but the hero bugged me too much for it to be one of my favorites. His 3 friends/cronies/whatevers though were hilarious! My brothers thought I had gone nuts; I kept laughing aloud at my book. :)
