So, I (am 95% sure I) got a second job!  Ever since work cut my hours from 40 to 10 a week since I basically finished my big project, I've been looking for a second job.  After about 6 or 7 interviews, I think today I finally got hired--and it's not food service (thank goodness!).  Tomorrow I go in and do all the paperwork and stuff.  The lady did ( Read more... )

So the family is out of town on vacation, and I'm left at home, to work.  Had a great fourth of July just messing around, and then I find out on Monday that work is cutting my hours from 40 to 10. (which makes me both sad, and happy, considering how boring my job is and how I never have enough to do....which might be why they cut my hours... :D).  ( Read more... )

Well, last weekend (2 weekends ago) was one of the most eventful weekends in recent memory. I was productive on Saturday, up to and including cleaning the house. I even went up and did a lot of research for my "Frankenstein" group project (not the paper/project, but just a group project). So I am back home for the summer.  Yeah!  I even have a job already--fulltime, and $10 an hour.  There is distinct happiness  in my world, since Michigan's economy is horrible and jobs are extremely hard to come by--even fast food jobs!  But this is a job that will actually look good on my resume, unlike most summer jobs.  So I'm pretty happy.  ( Read more... )
