Another thank you for the 2nd part. I cannot comment much as I haven't watched yet but I read all your post religiously and stalked your page for the finale write up daily for the past month. Several times per day in fact. Thank you for all the time you put into this. And yes TVD is also my favourite series so far. I do not watch many series or that much of TV for that matter so couldn't compare but DE have captivated me and are only couple that I ship and no one have surpassed them. It probably won't happen. I'm just happy we got Endgame. And I'm convinced that was meant to be as there is so much in the narative of the whole series that showed us this and cemented them as The couple.
No problem. And again, I look forward to seeing what you think of the last two seasons after reading comments and stuff (especially when I know that most have been negative and frustrated with mine being one of the lone voices of optimism, LOL).
I will not lie, after watching the episode twice, and multiple rewatching of various scenes (and even more watches during gif-making), this scene with the generations of Bennett witches remains my favorite of the entire episode

I think this whole “ghosts watching the living”-scenes were made for the still living characters and didn’t concern the dead so much. It’s like the show saying “no matter what, those you love, but who are dead, still are never going to leave your side. They’ll always be there with you right by your side even if you can no longer see them. (And in the end, when you die, you’ll finally be reunited with them.)”
Yup, yup, yup. Aww, I'm getting all verklempt again. For whatever flaws the finale had, overall, it really got the tone just so, so, sooooooooooo dang right!
Exactly, which is why I still don’t understand why Damon and Elena looked so young in the afterlife-scene, when they’re supposed to have died at an old age. Sorry, it just bugs me.
But how would Elena know that? LOL! Besides, again, it comfort in one's self *and* peace! Just tell yourself that! :nods:
On one hand, I had to laugh at how it was simply a matter of Bonnie telling Elena that she's finally gotten good at that magic thing. Uh huh

Both of the funerals took place in a wooded clearing with loved ones placing items of connection between them and the person they lost on a designated spot

What’s interesting in this comparison is also the different color/light of the scene: While Bonnie’s funeral, a girl that died too young, which made them all grieve for the unfairness of it all, was held in dark and muted colors; Stefan’s scene on the other hand which its light and warm colors highlights the fact that he was fine with dying for his friends and family, that he had a long and fulfilled life and found peace and the Scooby-gang understood that.
Ah, that was a beautiful point. I totally missed that, and I made the dang gifs. LOL! I really love how you phrased it too, the young-taken-too-soon Bonnie, and the at-peace-it's-his-time Stefan.
Thank you so much for pointing this out, because I didn’t remember this scene and kept wondering about this snow globe and its significance.
I figured that some who aren't either die-hard Stefan/Caroline (or obsessive TVD fans who are basically a Wikipedia of this show, LOL) wouldn't.
I will miss TVD and your posts so much. It is without a doubt my favorite show of all times and DE my

"There was a pitch on the table where they had kids and a white picket fence and everything was dandy." - OH I didn't read that interview! That'd be quite lovely. On that note, I heard many fans say that the DE scene in the cemetery just *begged* for Damon to show up there with a child.
THAT would have been amazing... AND would have made it WAY more clearer that they were not in the afterlife in that scene because I'm sorry it was confusing for some people (me included). Plus, you know, Damon and Elena with their child!!!
"In fact, I preferred the character of Tyler to him. (I KNOW! SHOCKING!)" - I was there too once ;)
Shocks me so!
"However, I will say that I loved, absolutely, completely and totally loved, what we got with Vicki and the whole Donovan family." - Yes, it was a beautiful, bittersweet closure for all of them, and also for the show in a way since Vicki's death was the first death of the show that felt like a big deal and the impact of which rippled through the seasons. (Sorry Mr. Tanner, Uncle Zach and, er, those
