i don't think i ever did work up the nerve to see *Days of Wine and Roses*.

as for rock & doris, i can't remember the name of the movie in which they parody advertising by inventing an imaginary product called Vip and had eydie adams sell it with sex. hmmm. "i'm king of the elevator!" that's the one line i remember, aside from "i owe it ALL to Vip."

well, anyway. *muttering and exiting stage left*

I was totally transfixed by the greenhouse scenes, swear to god he actually bounced off the camera at one point. Jesus, Jack! He is such a legend ( ... )

Yeah, I agree. I don't think he would have gone after her. I was just so afraid that this final loss of her would have driven him back to drink. Which is why I found it so ominous that he and his daughter lived right next to a damned bar with a damned flashing neon sign. *mutters imprecations against Blake Edwards*

I feel exactly the same way about her character. Have you seen Candy yet? The movie with Heath Ledger and Geoffrey Rush about heroin addiction and love? It's such an interesting parallel to Days. I think you'd love the book a whole lot more, though.

*lol* Y'know, I think I might have been too young to realise just how queeny Maurice and Dr Bombay were but yeah, I did know about Dick Sargent. *sigh* I never did like him as much as Dick York. How I adore Dick York's big ears ... *lol* ... such a purist. And it was so totally awesome to see him pop up in My ( ... )
