Indicating areas of interest on an application?

I want to study Indian cinema, so for the most part I'm applying to Asian Studies or Media departments, but one school seems to stick all of its film studies people, including someone whose interests are very similar to mine, into the Comparative Literature department. I would select the national literature as well as the cinema studies as film is often viewed as literature in these programs.

Thanks! That was my first instinct, but I'm not as familiar with Comp Lit programs and the way they work so I wanted to make sure.
