Indicating areas of interest on an application?
I want to study Indian cinema, so for the most part I'm applying to Asian Studies or Media departments, but one school seems to stick all of its film studies people, including someone whose interests are very similar to mine, into the Comparative Literature department. The application has a spot where I can choose multiple research interests from a dropdown list, and one of the options is "national literature." Would Indian cinema count because it's specific to one country, or should I just stick with cinema studies as the only thing I list?
