This kind of thing was bound to happen eventually, even without the hybrid behavioral-modification books as a catalyst. Adam has been so impressed with Kurt's progress that I think he'd fooled himself into forgetting how many years of neglect and mistreatment Kurt has suffered before they met, or at least of believing they'd moved past all that. It's never that easy, but I'm glad Hanover was able to get to the root of the problem and get them talking.

I think there will be repercussions for a while. Kurt and Adam may have to redefine their relationship, possibly multiple times, before they really settle down into both being really comfortable with it.

Yay! A new chapter!...Actually (for me) TWO new chapters, since I'd missed your posting of ch. 96.
My first thought was 'Great! Something cheerful to counteract all the Kurt-follows-Blaine-to-LA crap that I'd been seeing.'
Wrong! I sobbed reading these chapters! But, oh! the angst I felt was so worthwhile! Adam and Dr. H. both needed to see how conditioned the hybrids are to insecurity and obedience-no-matter-what. Kurt needed Adam to understand his needs better, and he also needed to understand their similarities. Artie will need that too, and hopefully Dr. H. will recognize that and help him do so without regressing as Kurt did.
I have SO MUCH LOVE for this story. I imagine it's disappointing for you to have so few reader comments, but I think it's because it's on LJ, which has become kind of old-school. I am grateful that it is LJ, because otherwise I wouldn't be able to tell you how much I love it, and you for writing it.

Thank you so much!

As well as they get along, Kurt and Adam still have things to learn about each other. Hopefully now Gabriel will be able to talk to Artie a bit more easily, and can ask him more about his specific needs, what will make him most comfortable.

I'm so glad you love for the story! I've never posted anything on fanfiction.net or AO3, and I've only posted a few short Kadam stories on Tumblr. They were posted here, too, I'm pretty sure. I know I could get more readers if I posted it more places, but it's been so complicated to post it here, I'm not sure I have the energy to do it in other places as well.

ODNT though I wanted to share w/u silentlyreading May 10 2014, 17:38:54 UTC
[hope you don't mind this method; feel free to blog this if you want] There has been a lot of very good commentary on and analysis of ODNT, but I have seen no mention of the theme that I found most striking in the episode that aired just before Mother's Day: THE IMPORTANCE OF MOTHERS AND THE MOTHER/CHILD RELATIONSHIP ( ... )

Interesting insights! I hadn't thought that much about the episode airing shortly before Mother's Day. I think you have some good points about the name Clara and possible connections. We know Chris is a Doctor Who fan. I've never seen Porgy and Bess, but I'm very familiar with Summertime, and I've heard Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child, but I never made a connection ( ... )
