Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 {Part 4 Part 5 Part 6} - coming soon

Warning: Spoilers, graphic images, mindless ramblings and one slightly whacked LOM/A2A/State of Play crossover theory.

Episode 2

Whilst Cameron walks imposingly through the press room, Della's become less enchanted with the story, still in shock over Stuart's death. Obviously no amount of William can soothe her - yet. Liz is getting concerned that people no longer talk about interesting things in front of her, Cameron delicately points out that there's a reason - namely her mouth. By this point I'm beginning to wonder if Pete and Helen have seats reserved next to each other, cause seriously. Alas, however, Helen breaks free and stalks Anne Collins through the train station. Lots of this is filmed in train stations actually. Cheap location perhaps?

Della's back to being adorable and slightly less traumatised. Cal and Liz exchange pleasantries before he shows Della how to use the photocopy machine. This is a very important skill as it allows him to make the message from Marc mysterious man slightly more readable than it already was. Helen seems kinda suprised that Cal has turned up for the Collins press conference which really should have been the first clue that all is not as it seems between Stephen, Cal and Anne. But Helen's to distracted by the questioning and the fact that Pete isn't nearby to wonder if Cal's shagging Mrs. Collins yet. Della flirts with the photocopy guy to get info on the mysterious journalist who recieved the mysterious letter from the other mysterious man. See, so easy to follow this plot. However it turns out that I needn't have worried about the lack of Stuart in this episode because not only have I been promised more Philip, there's also James McAvoy - who proceeds to flirt with the photocopy guy as well. Dan is rocking an awesome coat that billows, which is always important. Della agrees.

Liz really has the best facial expressions, however I want to focus on the fact that Philip has entered the screen! Now, there's a very important moment here when the camera first pans to he and Cameron where Mr. Glenister is indeed smiling. Yes, there is smiles happening. He's not as impressed however because Cal and Liz have stolen the conference room and obviously holding meetings on lounges confuses him. Cameron reclaims his office only to find that Gene has discovered Sam's been hiding there all these years. William is not impressed. He illustrates this by turning his fingers round in circles, cause thats just how he rolls. He also bangs his fist on desks, actions which I whole heartedly support.

Dan really is gorgeous. Cameron fails to notice the gorgeous however and focuses on Dan's appaling marriage and drinking habbits. At first I was offended on Dan's behalf, that is until what is perhaps my favourite moment in the whole series. The reveal that under no circumstance is Dan to refer to Cameron as Dad. Somewhere writers are laughing at me, it's not offen that they get me to gasp out loud. There's a slight family resemblance between the two, not only are they ridiculously awesome, they are quite adorable in their own way. Cameron agrees to let Dan freelance for them, and the fantastic four becomes the fabulous five.

So this scene is really all about the pretty people. And some plot. Which I won't reveal because really, if you've seen this you know already and if you haven't I don't understand why you have not paused in your reading, ran down to the local shop and bought it. Plus I struggle to understand the entire plot at the best of times. At first I was slightly concerned that Pete had found some independence, but all is well. He is sat firmly next to Helen as things should be.

What is this? Our intrepid four (that's Della, Dan, Helen and Pete - Cal's off angsting) are engaging in the little heard of social life. Once more Dan flirts with everyone and the pool cue, Helen and Pete continue to be adorable and Della gets a little cyncial - obviously she's feeling the effects of William withdrawal - as am I. I must admit to some flailing when my secondary ship (Helen and Pete) became semi - canon. Helen pats Pete on the cheek, and admits to almost kissing him, before the girls stumble up the stairs, giggling over green shoes and toothbrushes. To bad they missed the creepy, evil guy that brushes past Della, cause seriously, i'm not understanding for a minute how she could believe William would destroy her apartment.

Something happens at this point however I was to busy noticing The Glenister. There's folded arms and leaning and general brooding going on here. He really has perfected the art of copper in interview. I especially love the fact that once Della allows Cameron to go instead of reclaimimng his seat, Bell takes the seat next to her. She may have just accused him of destroying her apartment but he ain't giving up on getting her to go out with him, obviously - maybe he secretly hopes she'll stay at his instead of an hotel.
These two look ridiculousy good with the green back drop.

Liz! By this stage I've taken to grinning when ever she comes on screen. Helen's rockin some undercover but still won't let Dan sit next to Pete. I'm slightly scared, but very impressed by her ability to remember handwriting styles after a two second glance at the paper. Dan beats Helen in the dressing up game with an adorkable helmet and fluro safety vest. Marc Warren enters and at this stage I start flailing again. He was the one cast member who I love and didn't know was in this, so when he popped up opposite James there was, I admit,  squealing and giggling involved. This is by far my favourite Marc Warren character, his blank stare is hilarious and subsequent attempts a fleeing the country and the conference room are as well. He's slightly befuddled by the package Dan has sent him however. William engages in some heavy duty lets-protect-Della'ness, she's slightly spooked because the mass murdering hit man is stalking her - don't blame her really.

The terrific threesome engage in some nice stalkering, notice if you will how Pete manages to slot himself next to Helen at all times, except for the last when he concedes that people may notice and allows Dan to stand next to her. Needless to say losing the mysterious man who seems to know whats happening was not a good move - this is obviously why they need Della with them.

Now for the scene that made thousands of Life on Mars fangirls flail. Della has taken to bringing her BFF William with her everywhere just incase the stalker-murderer tries something again. Cal is not so impressed. This is because he's secretly been hiding out from Gene for the last few years, allowing us fangirls to flail over Alex and Gene, however it seems Sam would like his screen time back and goes and gets himself arrested for no real reason. As Liz points out later this was slightly hot, however it could have been made better if Gene William was the one wearing the handcuffs....however. Della is impressed by William's mastery of the handcuffs and the slight punch he seems to throw whilst walking through the press room.

She is not so impressed when she realises that her partner has just been arrested - neither is Cameron.

Caps from the amazing nancherrow ...
