War. Devastation. When you arrive, you find yourself in an abandoned city. You can smell the death, the decaying bodies, gun powder, fire. There's dried blood and remains scattered throughout the city. Buildings aren't cared for. Plants grow on them, through broken windows and overtaking few. Paint is coming off of others, debris lie throughout the streets, alleys, and even inside these buildings.

But then you come to the river. On the other side, the buildings are in perfect condition. Cared for. The streets, as far as you can see, are taken care of. Clean. You go over, trying to figure out what's going on. But when you try to do so, you're shunned. People flee, looking for cover. Pulling children off of the streets and closing their shutters. Classic the-bad-guy-is-here behavior. Someone yells at you, calls you something you can't decipher.

This is the Other Side. You are the Abnormal.

We are a small, COMM-BASED game that is also slow-pacedEvents ( ... )

Genessia - IT'S SMALL /AND/ NEW! plungeintofire March 4 2012, 00:02:14 UTC
You open your eyes. It feels like you've been sleeping for so long. Your last memories are hazy at best, but slowly coming into focus. You're lying in a large cocoon of polished silver metal, lined with silk and soft padding, with the sound of lapping water all around you. It appears to be a cavern, dimly illuminated with white lights glowing in the shallow pool. There's a slight weight on your chest. It's a box. Inside is a jeweled necklace of gold and opalescent stones, what appears to be a walkie-talkie with a video screen, and a pamphlet. The pamphlet states simply:

'Welcome to Genessia'It explains the device, calling it a videophone, with easy instructions about how to communicate via text, audio, and/or video, and how to transmit privately, and encourages you to give it a try once you leave the Bay. The necklace, it goes on further to explain, is required in order to pass from Genessia to one of the other four cities, and should be worn at all times not only to allow this transportation, but to identify the owner as ' ( ... )

This is our first attempt at an ATP ad. We're nervous but excited at the same time so we're just gonna start talking about our RP.
We have weapons who are people. Every kind of weapon. You just wanna be friends all of them but you can't
can't own every weapon. That's against school rules.
Except when you form unexpected harems.
SO ANYWAY. We're a school RP and there are battles too-- I'm sorry I'm thinking about harems again.
WE REALLY LOVE HAREMS.
I think about how many characters haven't been hugged yet or put in a coma or glitched into a wall.
And how they could do that if they were in Rakuen.
I can't
I think about how chill our playerbase is and our battles and the silly classes taught by characters who have no idea what they're doing. Like bar-fighting or music. Or worlds history. And the why are you even in a school, you can't remember how to read.We really love harems. And we want more weapons. We want them in our game. We want stupid AUs. We just love them. AND WE WANT THEM TO BE ON A RAINBOW. And in each others' rooms and ( ... )

The Wake thewake_mods March 4 2012, 00:04:37 UTC
The Wake

ABOUT
It starts with a feeling. The colors around you seem wrong, off; sounds seem distant, artificial. You start to get the feeling that you're trapped in a dream you can't wake from; that nothing is real.

You may try to explain this to your friends and loved ones ... but you're unable to get the words out. So you try and break from the routine. If you're a hero, you may try to hurt someone; a villain, you may try to do some good. But you can't. Your life is on rails, and you can't break free. You're a prisoner, trapped in your own body, in a life that no longer seems to have purpose.

Until you hear a voice. Wake, says the voice. And that is all. You reach out with your heart towards that voice; that voice which promises freedom, escape....

And then you WakeWelcome to Nautilus, the City of Change. A place where willpower is the key to true strength, and you can change the very fabric of reality. Welcome to a city where even the most average can become extraordinary. Welcome to the real world ( ... )

glaxcinprison is a small, slow paced, community based game. The majority of interaction takes place through in person prose, though there is a network available for characters who choose to use it. The tone can range from light hearted to deadly serious, often immediately back to back for maximum impact of the latter. Powers are generally restricted to about 10% strength, but the restrictions are often lifted during events.

While the main setting of the game is the prison itself, there are regular simulation events which place prisoners in new settings ranging from the Wild West to Oz to outer space. These events come with their own set of puzzles from deadly monsters to complicated obstacles that prisoners need to find a way through. Mini events within the prison itself also help keep things from ever getting dull.

THIS ACCIDENT thebooksaysso March 4 2012, 00:47:37 UTC

Dreams... That's all they are, right? Nothing more than the mind working at one's nerves. Then why does this feel so real? There is a woman who approaches - she calls for help and if you refuse, you wake up. Nothing more to it. Should you accept her offer, however... Her face twists into a smile, her hand extends for the taking and as welcoming as she can be, she speaks three simple words:

"Welcome to Icarus."

And then you wake up. --or maybe you were never sleeping; it doesn't matter, because now you aren't home, you aren't where ever you last were. You're somewhere that you have never been before. Asking for help isn't an option, because the citizens seem to scorn you: they hiss, sneer, warn you to keep your distance or risk getting shot on the spot. The nervous voices speak gibberish about a disease, a conflict, a problem, an accident.

You've just become part of it.

Inexplicable darkness -deemed by the public as the Black Mist- has encroached on civilizations around the world. People, animals, even whole city blocks have disappeared in its wake. Attempts to find a convenient way to hold it off or obliterate it altogether were halted and sabotaged by the oddly terrifying creatures known only as Strangelings... the beings who only appear inside the inexplicable Mist. Thousands upon thousands have become victims to the mysterious phenomena, and the world has been thrown into upheaval ( ... )

mythopoeics; a panmythology reincarnation game mythomod March 4 2012, 03:48:12 UTC

mythopoeics
In December 2010, it began. New York City was the epicenter and gods and mortals of bygone days were drawn there. Shadows of their former selves, not all remembered who they were and none knew that their lives had become playthings for Khaos.

In March 2012, following who knows what manner of tug of war (because it is always, always a game), our gods and goddesses, our nymphs and our angels, our mortals and, yes, even our mythical animals were returned to New York City.

They do say it's the city that never sleeps. It is only natural that the city's puppet-master never sleeps, either.

You can try to break the cycle but whether you're Odin All-Father or Zeus Thunderer, whether you're a Queen of Hell or a Queen of Sparta, you will fail. Settle in, instead, and learn to roll with the punches.

You could be anyone, anywhere, any time. One night you simply fall asleep in your usual spot, then wake in the morning to find you've been taken. You have no memory of the trip or who took you.

Welcome to the end of the world.
You've been deposited inside a camp populated by survivors... people who have been plucked from their own times and their own realities, and brought to this world by unknown forces. As near as you can tell, no one from the world itself is still living. All have fallen prey to a virus which turned them into shambling, moaning monsters out for the taste of human -- and non-human -- flesh.

Isn't it fortunate there are those ten foot walls surrounding the camp?

bloodontherocks is a panfandom game where individuals from all over the multi-verse are brought together as survivors to reclaim a world lost to a deadly plague. All fandoms accepted (excluding anime, cartoon characters, and real persons.) This is a community-based, plot-based game written in prose on Livejournal that allows your characters to go anywhere and any time with the aid of a TARDIS provided by the White and Black Guardians.

Premise

Guardian RPG is a small, laid-back, friendly game. We'd love whatever character you want to play, whether they're from Doctor Who or another canon.

Main comm | OOC comm | Rules | FAQ | Application | Current characters

Current plot
There's an ongoing plot of (nearly) everyone vs the Master. The current plot of saving survivors from the Daleks is finishing and a new one will start soon within the next couple of weeks, so now is a good time to join.
