Can I only play Doctor Who characters?
No. Who's to say the Guardians can't come and visit other universes? And with a TARDIS that can go anywhere - and has gone to alternate realities in canon - why shouldn't it be able to visit the worlds of other fandoms?
How does my character get onto the TARDIS?
They're sent an intriguing message by the Black or White Guardian, including a map and key. The map will lead them to the TARDIS, the key will let them in.
So I can't just have my character wander into the TARDIS by accident?
You can. In that case, once they choose a bedroom, they'll find the message in there.
What if they want to leave the TARDIS?
Once they've chosen a bedroom, they'll find instructions on how to call the Guardian, using an intercom found in the bedroom. Their reply will be a recorded message, and if they then go to the console room they'll find the outside world they left outside. It's up to you how long after they left the TARDIS lands.
How do they get back to the TARDIS after they've left?
The original instructions will tell them how to leave the Guardian a message. This will be by putting a specifically worded advert in a specific newspaper or magazine. By the wonders of time travel, the instant you've placed the advert, the TARDIS will be in the same place you first found it and disguised the same way.
What other rooms are on the TARDIS?
The rooms are only limited to your imagination and don't have to include things usually found inside (Ace and Hex once found a mountain range in the TARDIS, for example). If you have an idea for one, add it to the current state of the TARDIS post.
How do I find a new room? When can I find one?
Any time you like you can come across a new room. It doesn't have to be one on the requested list. But it does have to be different from any rooms already found.
What TARDIS functions are there?
This is a much more advanced TARDIS than the Doctor had. So it could do anything at all.
How will the plots work?
The Guardian will pop up on the screen to tell everyone where the TARDIS is landing and what they expect to find. He'll appear either as the Black or the White Guardian, according to taste. It's up to you to decide what your character will do with that information.
How often are the plots? When do they start?
A post introducing the new plot will go up around the end of activity check time (9th, give or take a day or two). You're not required to participate in every plot and nor do you have to finish one plot before another starts.
So which Guardian do I see?
Any message from the Guardian can appear to come from the White Guardian (good) or the Black Guardian (bad). Or could be one Guardian pretending to be the other. It's entirely up to you as to which it is.
What if I don't like that plot?
Then there's no compulsion to do it. You can do anything else you like instead.
But the TARDIS can't be in two places at once, can it?
No, but it travels in time. It can take off from one place, land in another, then go back to where it was before a millisecond later. So it will effectively be in two places at once.
I'm bored, can I do a plot now?
Yes. You can do any plot at any time you like. If you can't think of one then you can choose something from the plot ideas list, or do one that's been done before. If you have an idea for one but don't want to be in charge of it, then let the mod know and they'll do it instead.
