Report #2
Subject: Reflexive Programming
Field test was deemed a success plus one minor set back. I do not know how this malicious program is taking root in the Subject. The only place I have not looked through thoroughly is the memory database. But I am deleting as I go along, learning more about the Subject and these others. Play field test recording.

Jinki squatted down in the middle of an empty white hallway, dressed in a black suit. He had his arms wrapped around his knees, shaking slightly as he took in his surrounding. “Where am I? What’s going on?” There was nobody to answer his questions though, leaving him anxious and nervous, especially without Jonghyun.
“Activate Project Lucifer.” Suddenly his eyes fell shut and he slumped over, the world going dark to him. A second later, his eyes snapped open, but he wasn’t Jinki anymore. His irises glowed an icy blue, and there was no expression on his face. He rose from the floor in a strange fluid grace that he never would’ve managed before, standing still with his arms by his side.
“Advance.” His head moved from side to side, examining the hallway silently before walking down. As he got closer to the middle, two saws came flying out of the wall. Jinki back flipped out of the way neatly, landing on his feet, sweeping around to the wall as something came flying down the hallway.
He pressed himself against the wall for a second before diving forward, twisting his body to dive between two large flying blades. He rolled to a standing position and ran for the end. There was gun fire somewhere behind him, but he didn’t turn to look, eyes still on the exit. He saw the floor open up beneath him, and launched himself towards the wall, jumping back and forth between two walls before landing on the other side.
He reached the glowing light and ran through it to emerge in an empty field. The wind blew slightly as he stood there, cross hairs in his vision examining everything in his line of sight. A case dropped in front of him. He kicked it open to reveal two guns and pulled them out of the case, cocking them as he saw the approaching threats.
“Eliminate the hostiles.” Jinki’s vision marked them with red skulls as they advanced on him in a group. He walked forward, cocking both guns. His attackers barely had time to raise their weapons before Jinki put bullets through their foreheads. A single shot to the middle of the forehead. His face remained expressionless as they dropped to the ground around him like flies.
Rapid gunfire sprayed behind him. He turned to look and saw a helicopter hovering in the air, firing at him. He stood still, letting the bullets dig themselves into the ground around him.
“What is he doing? Why isn’t he moving?”
Jinki raised a gun and shut one eye.
“He’s not trying to shoot the helicopter down with that gun is he?”
Jinki squeezed the trigger, sending the bullet flying at the pilot, entering through the only unprotected part of his face: his eye. He lowered his gun as the helicopter spiraled down to the ground, exploding on impact.
"That's not... In his programming."
He squinted his eyes at the heat and turned to scan the area. There was nothing left for him to destroy. He didn’t move from his spot, but lowered his arms to his sides. Then suddenly, he dropped the guns and fell to his knees clutching his head, eyes squeezed shut.
Brown eyes snapped open as he looked in horror at the scene around him. “Oh my god... What have I done?” He whispered in horror. Tears spilled from his face as the men in black suits came to collect him.

End video playback. Defective programming was evident only at the end. My superiors are quite satisfied. Once I find the malicious programming, he will be perfect. Run memory database.

Jinki and Jonghyun shared the master bedroom. Minho and Taemin shared a smaller room, and Key got a room all to himself. His equipment took up half of his room though, and he didn’t have a bed, only a futon since he always seemed to fall asleep in his large chair or the couch in the living room.
“School starts tomorrow,” Key said as he took a bite of his dinner. Key and Jonghyun took turns cooking, the other three took turns washing the dishes. Jinki and Taemin took care of laundry while Minho took care of groceries.
Jinki looked around at the group of people sitting at the dinner table. They’d been living together for almost two weeks now, but he still knew next to nothing about all of them. “The less you know the better,” was what Jonghyun told him once. It still sparked his curiosity though, every time they were together like this.
“Do you have to keep reminding me?” Jonghyun groaned, mouth full of food. “Don’t talk with your mouth full.” Key gave him a disgusted look and shook his head. “I’m kind of excited.” Jonghyun glanced over at Jinki, who had a big smile on his face. Jinki was so smart. He understood things so easily, where as it took Jonghyun days to understand the same things.
“That’s the spirit!” Key said with a smile.
“It’s the first chance at a normal life in so long. How can I not be excited?” Jonghyun choked on his food slightly, Minho reaching over and slapping him on the back a few times. “That’s what you get for eating so fast,” Key said in a sing song voice.
Jonghyun scowled at him and took a drink of his water. “Asshole.” Taemin gasped and tugged on Minho’s arm. “Minho! He said a bad word!” Jinki laughed as he got up to put his plate away in the kitchen.
“Don’t be ridiculous! How old are you? Sheesh! Acting like you’ve never heard these words before. I heard you screaming some choice ones last night...” Taemin turned bright red as Minho smirked smugly. Key pursed his lips while he looked at his food. “I’m not hungry anymore.”
--
Everyone was already waiting in the car the next morning, except for Jonghyun, who hurried hastily out of the door, locking it behind him and stopping for a second to check his hair in the window before running towards the car with his backpack slung over one shoulder. He crammed himself into the backseat next to Jinki, planting a kiss on his cheek while ignoring the glares he was getting from Key.
“I told you to get up earlier.” Minho rolled his eyes as he backed out of the driveway.
--
The five of them walked through the university gates together. Jinki could hardly contain his excitement. For the most part, he and Jonghyun were in the same classes, except for an advanced particle theory class that Jonghyun absolutely refused to take. Instead, he took an advanced physical combat class. In other words, he got to fight without getting in trouble.
Minho, Key, and Taemin bid the other two good bye as they separated and went to different parts of the campus for classes. Key would be taking most of the computer classes which wasn’t a surprise to anyone. He probably knew more than the professors teaching the classes though, something he dreaded slightly. He was probably going to pass the time hacking into the school’s mainframe.
Minho and Taemin were both in engineering, Minho in the mechanical aspect, and Taemin in the electrical aspect.
Minho specialized in hand to hand combat. He knew most styles of martial arts and fighting, spending his childhood with Jonghyun, fighting each other. Sometimes their fights were real fights, with ab intent to maim, and sometimes, they were just simple sparring matches. Both of them were good, and neither of them liked to lose.
Taemin specialized in weaponry. He could assemble and take apart a gun faster than you could blink an eye. Jonghyun spent his much of his youth with Taemin too, learning everything they could from each other until Jonghyun moved onto physical combat and improving his aim, while Taemin was content developing new weapons. Jinki had walked in on him a few times while he was inspecting things and promptly backed away when Taemin offered to teach him how to assemble a gun.
Jonghyun excelled at physical activities. He had a lot of energy, and couldn’t stand to sit still. He picked up on physical things easily, but when it came to use his brain, he was a bit lacking. You couldn’t go on instinct when you were learning.
Jonghyun sat in class with Jinki, head on his hand, tapping his pencil on his desk slightly. His eyes traveled over to Jinki sitting at his desk, eager expression on his face. Jonghyun shook his head and leaned back into his seat, tucking his pencil behind his ear.
He grinned to himself before leaning over and quickly jabbing Jinki in the arm and pulling back like nothing happened. Jinki gave him a weird look and went back to listening to the lecture. After a few more minutes, Jonghyun did it again.
“Jonghyun, what are you doing,” he whispered to him.
“Nothing, Onew.” Jinki rolled his eyes and tried to go back to the lecture. This time, when Jonghyun tried to jab him again, he was ready and grabbed his finger, bending it back causing Jonghyun to wince in pain and shake his hand.
“Holy freaking crap, man. That hurt!” Jinki just put a finger to his lips with a smile and went back to the lecture.
--
“Where are those reflexes when we're getting shot at huh?" Jonghyun asked as they got out of class.
“I secretly have reflexes of steel. I surprise even myself occasionally. The other time I tripped and fell down the stairs, but I did this weird thing where I kinda like, flipped down and landed on my feet at the bottom. It was cool, but it hasn’t happened again.” Jonghyun nodded.
He noticed once or twice when those things happened with Jinki. Jinki randomly dropping something and catching it again before it hit the ground. Jinki randomly ducking out of the way of objects flying towards him. While he was turned around.
But those events were far and few, so he pushed them to the back of his mind.
They ate lunch together, Jonghyun feeding Jinki like he was a little kid, making airplane noises as he dropped the food into his mouth. From out of nowhere, Key fell into a heap beside them, running his hand through his hair, letting out a loud sigh.
“What happened to you? It’s only the first day of classes. Even I’m not tired of school yet.” Key smirked a little bit as he laughed. “Well, I finished a semester’s worth of work in an hour and got kicked out of the class.” His professor woke him up halfway through the class, about to yell at him until he saw his computer. Then he kicked him out because there was no way he could’ve finished a semester’s worth of work in an hour. But he didn't know Key.
Minho and Taemin appeared behind them, laying down on the grass. “Goodness. I forgot how technical school was.” The five of them joked around for a bit. From across the campus, there was a whirling noise as someone adjusted a camera lense and snapped pictures of the five of them sitting together.
The pictures loaded onto a screen in a remote location somewhere far away. There was a man sitting behind his desk, grinning as the pictures appeared one by one.
Jinki’s ears perked up. “Do you guys hear something?” Everyone turned to look at him with a curious expression. “You’re going to have to be more specific than that, love. I hear a lot of things.”
“Something like... a camera taking pictures?” He furrowed his eyebrows and looked around.
“I don’t see anyone taking pictures. Are you okay?”

Memory overload. Seems like he is trying to resist the deletion of the memory bank subconsciously. Interesting. I ran the faces from the memory bank through the system. They came back as Lee Taemin, Choi Minho, Kim Kibum, and Kim Jonghyun. I cross referenced their names. I knew the Cartel was involved. What could they possibly want with something they don’t understand? Unless... I will press further on this matter with the Jonghyun boy.

Jonghyun had been chained to the wall in the freezing room for longer than he could count. The stark whiteness of the room perturbed him. It was like he was trapped in his mind or something. He struggled against the chains binding him to the wall, letting out an angry yell every now and then.
Where the hell was Jinki? Who the hell were these people? What the hell did they want with them? His questions were interrupted by the beeping of the door hidden in the wall followed by a hiss as it opened, revealing a man in a white coat. He strode into the room, electronic clipboard under his arm.
He stopped right in front of Jonghyun and squatted down with a cold smile on his face, watching him breathe hard from struggling against the chains. “Hello there Jonghyun.” Jonghyun glared at him with pure hatred before trying to get at him again, only to be stopped inches away from his face by the chains.
The man chuckled before tilting his head, clearly amused by his actions. “It won’t do you any good to struggle. So don’t waste your energy.”
“Where’s Jinki?! What did you do with him?! I swear to GOD if you hurt him, I will kill you in the most painful way possible! I will make you SUFFER!” He spat at him, pulling against his chains even harder.
“I have a question for you, Jonghyun.”
“I don’t care.”
“Do you know what Jinki is?” Jonghyun fell silent.
“You do,” the man said, watching his expression. “If you knew, then why did you hide it from him?”
“Does it matter?” He whispered.
“It does indeed. You love him because he’s just like you, isn’t he?” Jonghyun’s eyes remained stone cold as he tried to stare the other man down.
“So exactly how long have you known about what you are?”
