It's weird how a story can get stuck delaying exactly the scene you want to have happen, isn't it? Extra words get in the way of the good bits.

Hannibal is so awesome! I saw the most recent episode, and I'm extremely pleased!

In this instance not so much. I know I want to write erotica but 99.9999% of the time I HATE WRITING SEX SO MUCH. I have no idea why I keep doing it...

I AM UNCEASINGLY IMPRESSED BY WHAT A SHIT THE TITULAR CHARACTER IS. I am so pleased by the painful speed at which different people reach their conclusions. And it is so beautiful to look at. Bugger the haters and bugger them with a dead bear. >:(

Sex is weird to write. I really like writing the build-up and the aftermath, but the actual deed? Not so much.

It's really well-done, too. You get to see the grand evil deeds, and the urbane charm, but also the petty selfishness and the very ordinary human vulnerabilities (I love him being surprised by how he can be hurt by such normal things - much like with Dexter, I'm very fond of the "Wait, I do have normal feelings as well as the other kind!" moments.)

The pettiness is my favourite bit - after all, Hannibal's main motivation for murder is "other people were rude". If that isn't petty, I don't know what is. "Oh, someone killed a bailiff for MY WILL ugh I will KILL A *JUDGE*".

To a friend/acquaintance's anthology. I was asked to submit something on the basis of fanfic, which is possibly the first time my propensity for bellowing fancrap into the void has turned out to be useful.
