Erotica anthology submission progress: 7,000 words. So far one kiss and no sex. Good thing I still have x3 as much space to write this thing, and I knew I shouldn't have started with meet cute but I did it anyway because I'm a moron. But given the nature of the story and the nature of the characters and the nature especially of the anthology and their interest in negotiated consent, there needed to be a conversation about consent before anything could happen. And given the nature of the characters it was really more of a dressing-down about consent, and it turns out I still massively prefer writing conflict to writing harmony.
And that, your honour, is why it is 7,000 words of fiction for an erotica anthology that does not as yet contain sex of any sort. It will, and it will have to, because one of the things I've been told is that other submissions are proving bad at actually getting down to the getting down as well, but I've also been told (gratifyingly, given that one of the components of the story does not have the appropriate genitalia or indeed any genitalia) that "obviously" PIV sex isn't the be-all and end-all of the sexual component. There just does need to be some.

Anyway. It turns out my dress pattern IS coming today so I should be able to make dresses. I have successfully finished the shorts, fixed the carpet trousers, and when I have finished reading Cleolinda's recaps I will start making Holly's necklace.
