Ow.

Ow ow ow.

This are the noise Angua doesn't make as she turns her head to the side, and smiles. Hellboy has be-shirted her now, at least, and the bruising's subsided, even if her bones are still sore.

River had just walked in, to look for Simon --

"It's real," Daffodil assures her.

"It's growing in a funny place, but it's real. Would you like a flower?"

"Hey."

There is a voice from a blond, who is pale and wan but young, coming from another bed. "Are you a mutant, little girl?"

Just curious, and all.

Daffodil frowns at her, forehead wrinkled.

"What's a mutant?"

"People with special powers. Born with 'em. You might not be.." she shrugs, a little. Depends on where she's from, Paige supposes. "Where are you from, sweetheart?"

Daffodil pauses for a moment, then smiles sunnily. "A long time ago, and a land far far away." It sounds like a rote answer, but it also sounds like the truth.

"And my name's Daffodil. What's yours?"
