Title: "Regional strips 12: E La Vita L'è Bela"
Author: J.J.
Warning: I might have failed in portraying correctly the regions involved. If that's the case just tell me. Those were done out of love for the Italian regions, not with the intent to offend someone.
Notes: After drawing the characterization for the Italian regions I ended up having ideas for them and drawing LOT of strips about them so... here there's one. It's nowhere near to the APH standards but well, I'm not Himaruya-san...
Characters: Lombardia (Alberto Vargas), Lazio (Lucio Vargas), Emilia (Gino Vargas), Enzo Jannacci, Lucio Dalla, Franco Califano.
Time: 2013.
Disclaimer: "Axis Powers Hetalia" belongs to Himaruya Hidekaz.
Hey, do I own something here? Oh yes, I own the plot and a sensible heart which would surely break if you give me harsh reviews... so please be honest but nice ok? Oh and the representation of the Italian regions are mine as well
Summary: Lombardia and Lazio have to face something.

What inspired this

My poor, poor attempt to draw something in memory of Enzo Jannacci, Franco Califano and also Lucio Dalla. In case you don't know on the 29th March of 2013 Vincenzo Jannacci, better known as Enzo Jannacci died. The day after Franco Califano did the same. On the 1st of March of the past year Lucio Dalla had met the same fate.
Incidentally the three of them all wore glasses that in the strip are now held by Lombardia (Enzo Jannacci's), Lazio (Franco Califano's) and Emilia (Lucio Dalla's).

In case you don't know who're those guys:

Lucio Dalla (Bologna, 4 March 1943 - Montreux, 1 March 2012) was one of the most popular, important, influential and innovative Italian singer-songwriter, musician and actor. He also played sax, clarinet and keyboards. His most famous song is 'Caruso'. In the constant search for new ideas and perspectives, he tried with curiosity and versatility a large variety of musical genres, collaborating and duetting with many artists of national and international renown. He also wrote the opera moderna 'Tosca. Amore disperato (2003)' based on the 'Tosca' of Giacomo Puccini.

Vincenzo Jannacci better known as Enzo Jannacci (Milano, 3 June 1935 - Milano, 29 March 2013) was an Italian singer-songwriter, actor and stand-up comedian. He is regarded as one of the most important artists in the post-war Italian music scene. Master of musical art and cabaret, he has collaborated with many famous Italian musicians, performing artists, journalists, television personalities and comedians. He has written around thirty albums and soundtracks, some of which have since come to be seen as milestones in the history of Italian popular music. A cardiologist in his day job, he is also regarded as one of the founders of Italian rock and roll music, along with Adriano Celentano, Luigi Tenco and Giorgio Gaber, with whom he collaborated for over forty years. He's also famous for having written many songs in Milanese language. His most famous song was 'Vengo anch'io. No, tu no' (I'm coming too. No, you aren't) which seems a rather light song but that actually had a rather deep meaning.

Franco Califano also known as Er Califfo (Tripoli, 14 September 1938 - Roma, 30 March 2013) was an Italian lyricist, musician, singer and actor. He spent most of his life in Rome though he's from Pagani (Salerno) and had birth during a flight to Tripoli.
Compared to a traditional French chansonniers his most famous song is 'Tutto il resto è noia' (Everything else is boredom).

The title of the strip 'E la vita l'è bela' means 'And the life is beautiful' in Milanese language. It's a quote from the song 'E la vita, la vita' (And the life, the life) written by Jannacci but sung by Cochi and Renato as theme song of the program Canzonissima (here in the version sung by Jannacci and here it's sung by Jannacci and Claudio Baglioni. I recommend this one.). If you ask me it was fitting for the strip as sadly, I couldn't find a song that would tie all those 3 guys together.

Don't grumble silently, please let me know what you're thinking of this!
