Well, yesterday was my last day of work until July. It's a weird feeling knowing I don't have to go back there - or go *anywhere*, really - for that long. I wish I never had to go back, but that's another post completely. I was going to try to finish working out the week, especially since we're only open through Thursday because of Easter, but I ( Read more... )

Hee hee...boy can I remember how that felt. Garrett was two weeks late. He weighed in a 9 lbs. 10.5 oz. when he finally showed up. It was like "I'm SO SICK of being pregnant. Get this thing out of me NOW." I think that came out right after telling the husband, "YOU did this to me. You're NEVER touching me again..."

GOOD LUCK!

*hugs*

It's funny that you mention the whole "YOU did this to me!!1!11" thing. Being the irreverent bastards that we are, we're planning on trying to work every childbirth cliche into the birth experience somehow. I can't wait to use that one. Gotta do something fun while we wait, right?

I hope that, regardless how it starts, that your labor is quick (or at least seems quick), and that everything goes smoothly!

And I know how it feels to have nothing to do :-|

My mom works in a birthing center and everyone there insists full moons bring on the babies.

I was none too keen about being induced since I wanted to do a natural birth if at all possible and had been told that inducements can prolong labor and more people who are induced end up in C-sections and/or with epidurals because of the prolongment. However, my inducement sped things right along lickety-split and I had a fairly quick delivery and, more importantly, was able to have the delivery I wanted. So, *fingers crossed* for you!!

Lucky! I was induced, too. Unfortunately I am a deformed freak and, even though my contractions were four minutes apart when we arrived to be induced, I couldn't feel them and I never dilated even a half a mm...lol! They tried the hot tub...nothing. They tried the p-gel. Nothing. They broke my water. Flood of the century, but still nothing. Then they put in the pit drip. Okay so I began to feel the contractions. Still no dilation. After 12 hours they did the csection. Thanks goodness in a way though cuz I'm sittin' here now thinkin' "I could have had to squeeze a nearly ten pound watermelon out a hole the size of a lemon" HAHAHAHAH! Oh man I need some humor ( ... )

Yeah...full moon didn't work so much. It's still almost full - surely that counts for something. C'mon, moon magic!

I know my hospital has birth balls available. I'm hoping I'll be able to hold off on the epidural for long enough to try one out. They look...bouncy.

Oh good - I need more of these sorts of stories, I think! I hope it goes that well for me, assuming I make it to the induction.

A friend of mine insists that having sex has worked every single time and she's had 3 kids. You could give that a shot. I think the full moon thing is true. The women that were out on the 2 maternity leaves I subbed for both had their kids on a full moon. Either way I hope everything goes well.

Oh, I've totally tried the sex thing. At 40+ weeks preggo, it's just about the last thing I feel like doing, but I keep holding out hope that it might work. NO luck yet, but Matt's pretty happy.

I can only imagine how uncomfortable it must be.

I guess she's just a procrastinator. It all won't matter soon enough when you have your little cutie in your arms.
