Well, yesterday was my last day of work until July. It's a weird feeling knowing I don't have to go back there - or go *anywhere*, really - for that long. I wish I never had to go back, but that's another post completely. I was going to try to finish working out the week, especially since we're only open through Thursday because of Easter, but I ( Read more... )

Lucky! I was induced, too. Unfortunately I am a deformed freak and, even though my contractions were four minutes apart when we arrived to be induced, I couldn't feel them and I never dilated even a half a mm...lol! They tried the hot tub...nothing. They tried the p-gel. Nothing. They broke my water. Flood of the century, but still nothing. Then they put in the pit drip. Okay so I began to feel the contractions. Still no dilation. After 12 hours they did the csection. Thanks goodness in a way though cuz I'm sittin' here now thinkin' "I could have had to squeeze a nearly ten pound watermelon out a hole the size of a lemon" HAHAHAHAH! Oh man I need some humor...

But, yes, I was not wanting to be induced at all. But, when told if I waited another week the baby would be over 10 lbs. at delivery...well. You get the picture ;-).

Grace was different. She was a scheduled csection as once you've had one the practice here (if it's less than five years since the last one) is a repeated csection. But, she was also a lot smaller...barely 6 pounds.

I have to say I hated the epidural. It made me feel like I was going to fall over the side of the bed. I didn't mind the spinal with Grace, though. That was nice because it kicked in immediately and then wore off immediately with no side effects.

One thing I never got to try and always wanted to was the birth ball. I just thought it looked really nice and relaxing.

I guess I wouldn't have made a good pioneer women, eh? Hee hee.

I've heard the full moon thingy too! I hope it worked!

Yeah...full moon didn't work so much. It's still almost full - surely that counts for something. C'mon, moon magic!

I know my hospital has birth balls available. I'm hoping I'll be able to hold off on the epidural for long enough to try one out. They look...bouncy.
