“How could this happened? You’re supposed to keep him away, locked up inside that mansion for good, Kai! Damn it I trusted you won’t let such thing happen!!” One of the men was hissing angrily, the voice wasn’t very loud but the anger within it was clear. “How could you let this happened!?”

Reita recognized the owner of the voice now; it was a man knew to him and the rest of workers only as Tora, a regular visitor to the young patient, who was always quiet and always looked a bit sad whenever the blonde saw him leaving the ward. And he thought he had also heard the name “Kai” being mentioned, he recalled seeing a man by this same name came and went in the sanatorium too.
“I’m truly sorry for what had happened, Tora san.” The apology came from the other person in the ward, the voice was more calm and low, sounded more mature than the first person. “None of us wanted this to happen really. It’s our responsibility to protect Uruha, my men are doing all they can to bring him back as soon as possible……”
”Better if they do! Do you still remember he is the one who made Saga become like *this*!?” the first person hissed again through clenching teeth.

Reita was surprised to hear such conversations coming from Sakamoto san’s visitors, but it was impossible for him to guess what exactly were they talking about, and it was still very confusing for two persons to be arguing so heatedly within a ward, where they were supposed to be there to visit the patient in coma, while the patient himself still laying on his bed.

There was a long tensed, uneasy silence filling the ward before the one who was referred as Tora spoke again, in a calmer but equally anxious voice. “Then did you find out how he had done this?”

“No…not yet, though we are close enough.” The other man assured him, trying to put as much believability into his words.

“We should have done something to him back then, Kai.” Without reposing to Kai’s answer, Tora commented dryly, his tone was cold. “We should have done something two years ago, after all we both saw what he had done to Saga…..you know it was what we should have done as much as I do. But yet you refuse to face the reality even up today!”

Saga……who was he…….or was it a she? The blonde wondered whom that person might be, but seconds later he vaguely recalling Tora calling Sakamoto san with this nick name long ago. He had almost forgotten….So the two persons were now talking about someone who was responsible for Sakamoto san’s current condition? It started to feel a little weird to Reita, even he couldn’t tell exactly why.

“Don’t say that!” the other person snapped at the younger one with a warning voice. “Uruha…he’s not to blame, remember this please, Tora san. It was……it was an accident, we had both agreed to it!”

“I know!” the reply came so bitterly as the other one spoke again. “But you also know how dangerous it is for him to wander off in the outside world, the same like I do! It is a problem we need to deal with, and quickly!”
“That’s what I’d come here for, Tora san…” Kai replied. “We need your power to help us, so come with me, please. Your aid will prove us with great advantages before things can go wrong.”

There was another long, tensed pause before the younger man broke the silence.

“I and my family have our own duty to the Takashima clan too, the same like you do. I’m fully aware of it.” the one who was being referred as Tora began slowly, like he was heaving something from his chests, spelling one word slowly after another. “I’ll join you in the search later, now get out and leave me alone with Saga for a second…would you please, Mr. Kai?”

Reita couldn’t see anything from inside the room but judging from Tora’s last sentence, the blonde knew their conversation had almost come to an end, and one of them would soon exit the ward. Not wanting to be caught dead prying on the two visitors, he began to back away from the door, walking back from as quietly and quickly and hid himself down the corner of the hallway. Fortunately the hallway had remained empty for the entire time. He would have to wait for both men to leave before he could go inside the ward again to check on the patient according to plan.

“As you wish, Tora kun.” Kai answered softly from behind him, he was now sitting beside Saga’s bed with his back turning toward the older man, a sign to let the other knew there was nothing else he wanted to talk with him anymore. He heard the lawyer walking toward the door, pushing it open but then he stopped and spoke again. “I wish to hear from you soon, feel free to let me know when you will come. Call my assistant Ruki anytime you like.”

Shortly afterward the door was closed, leaving him alone with Saga again.

Staring at the blonde young man’s peaceful sleeping face, Tora couldn’t help but wonder why thing would turn out the way they were now, why things would go so wrong for all of them……everything used to be alright back then, he and Kai used to be friends despite the difference of their ages, but after the incident with Uruha took place, anger and bitterness---mostly from Tora’s side had spoiled their friendship while Kai was left filling with guilt. How ironic it was!

He and Uruha used to be friend too; the same like Saga did……why all these would go into ruin? Tora actually knew the reason why but a part of him was still in denial; hoping back everything he had experienced was just a nightmare and it would go away someday then everything might turn back to normal once again, that Saga would be healthy and good again instead of in a coma.

Even up to this day Tora didn’t really have the heart to hate Uruha, not even what had happened between them all, he knew it was an accident, Uruha didn’t mean to do this, he never wanted to hurt anyone intentionally……but the mistake was already committed and there was no undoing it. No he didn’t hate Uruha, but the regret of not able to protect Saga had been eating him alive for the past two years. Beside the regret now there also came the worry, he was worrying about what had become of Uruha after his disappearance, and also what they might have to do to the boy after they got him back under their control.

Back then when he was still a few years younger he would never believe in nonsense such as curse, but after all he had been through and with Saga in his current condition, he was starting to believe curse did exist. He was starting to believe the Takashima family was cursed, and their lives were affected by it. but sadly he was no exorcist of any sort so he didn’t even know how to break this curse. Since none of them could escape from this curse, they would have to make-do of it and tried to keep the damage under control despite what the price might be, there was no difference for this time.

“Sagacchi……”

A sad whisper echoed briefly within the ward as the black hair youth took the sleeping patient’s motionless hand into his own. Damn he needed more strength to handle this! But for a long time afterward he couldn’t bring himself to stand up from his chair.

the gate to the abandoned orphanage was now unlocked, a small group of men in black suit had previously entered through the gate and walked across the ruined playground to the main building of the orphanage in searching for one missing young person. They had already searched the whole building thoroughly but they didn’t find the person they were looking for nor any trace that was left behind by him.

Eventually the fruitless search came to an end and one by one they exited from the abandoned building. The leader of the searching team was a small-built man with blenched blonde hair, with the other four subordinates following his footsteps. They visited this place after some witness’s report but so far they came up with nothing during their search. Mr. Kai would not be pleased by it.

However as they walked across the playground again, suddenly Ruki stopped at his path as something among the grass caught his attention, he waved for his subordinates to stop before bending down to pick the small object up to study it. it was something he was familiar with, a paper crane in red color, its paper wetted by the dusk’s mist.

The blonde put the ornament into his pocket without a word, and stared carefully at the blur footprints he had just discovered around the area where the paper carne had fallen upon, judging from the two set of different footprints Ruki could tell that the light hair youth whom Mr. Kai was looking for might not be alone when he left this abandoned orphanage. Beside the Young Master, someone else had also been here before, and most likely they had left together……?

Then Ruki shrugged to signal his subordinates and one of them had taken up the hint, he took a camera and started taking pictures for those blur footprints for the record. The blonde watched the man at work for a moment longer before questioning another subordinate who stood behind him.

“Tell me what you had found while you spoke with this man who ran this orphanage. Report what he had told you to me again.”

The appointed man was a little surprise at the sudden request, but soon he fished out his notebook and checked quickly on it.

“Basically we had checked the ex-Chairman of this orphanage thoroughly already and we found nothing suspicious about him, and he denied knowing anything that might concern us. Ruki san.”

“No! I’m asking you what the man had told you! I remember you reporting a few details of Young Master’s days spending in this orphanage the last time you’d reported to me. Now report it again already!”

“Yes, Ruki san!” the man quickly turned a few pages of his note book before he found what the blonde had demanded. “ One of the details the ex-Chairman had mentioned is Young Master was quiet close with another orphan during the time he stayed here……he said it was a little boy and the two of them were always hanging around---”

“Then what is this friend’s name?”

the subordinate shot his head. “The ex-Chairman doesn’t remember.”

But something within Ruki’s memory was already being triggered by what the man had informed him, it might be a clue that they all had overlooked before…...the Young Master had a few attempt escapes before and just a week ago he had finally escaped out of the mansion and was found wandering right outside of this abandoned orphanage……could it simply be his childhood memory bringing him back here or was he actually trying to looking for something, or even someone?

When the blonde finally turned back to look at the other man impatiently and ordered. “Fine, now go and check out every record of the staff who had worked this place within the past ten years. Contact them all and get whatever information you can get from them. One of them might know whom this little childhood friend of Young Master is and where he might be currently. And once you find out who this person is, you should dig out whatever information you could about him, understand?”

All four of Ruki’s subordinates nodded briefly before they made their way back to their car which was parked outside of the orphanage.
