Our pal Gloria's just so sucessful

In general I don't pay much attention to what our dear friend Gloria Tesch is doing, but I have an enthusiastic commenter on my YouTube who seems to keep tabs on her and tells me things pretty frequently. I usually don't follow up on his tips because I don't care, but I thought I'd share this amusing nugget with you. Via her public Facebook:

Maybe they're doing some underhanded things too. I remember back when they first hired people and there were two separate public meltdowns by employees of Gloria's father as they quit and posted a bunch of dirt about him. Stuff about how he hired someone to make some connections for him and then tried to go behind the person's back to cut a side deal so he could get out of the finder's fee, etc. Amounts to the tune of $30,000 that he cheated people out of, stuff like that. In any case, there are a lot of people out there who think they know what they're doing and they don't. The evidence is obvious in how her family decided to irresponsibly self-publish Gloria's book(s) and market them the way they did.

Yeah, I'm more afraid that Gerry Tesch will try to con the actors out of promised money. He's no stranger to these tricks, as the facebook meltdown of one of the crew members and the "double your money in 24 month" (sic) flyer in Maradonia and the Law of Blood shows.

I can't WAIT to see the hot mess that is the "Maradonia" movie, starring Gloria Tesch as Maya. Please, please, please let this happen before she realizes that she is completely delusional. :-)

How old is Maya in the books?

She's in tenth grade, so for most people that would be 15 or 16? On her casting sheet where she describes them, though, it says 15 to 19. In all fairness it's common for older actors to play younger characters, though normally they're supposed to try to look younger and Gloria stopped looking anywhere near her age when she started caking makeup on her face. Now she looks like she's my age or something, but probably is still at that point in her life where she automatically believes that anything that makes her look older is actually glamorous. (I think that whole "way too much makeup" thing may have started around the time when it was just plain no longer feasible for her to milk the "youngest author ever" angle.)

I just looked up the Gersh statement on unsolicited manuscripts and actually I love it. That's tough love! "No, just don't send it. No, don't think we will read it. No, don't hope we will keep it and one slow day someone with nothing better to do might pull it out of the pile. No, don't think we'll say to anyone 'there's this manuscript we received that isn't right for us but you might....'. Just NO, get it?"

I know. I think it's funny. Thing is, I don't even care about film very much and wasn't thinking about the movie rights, and my book is getting read by them because of my agent's connections. (Sure, selling the film rights would be cool, but even if Gersh wants to represent it and signs as a sub-rights agent on my contract, that doesn't mean they'll sell it to a studio--though they won't offer to represent if they don't think the chances are good--and then even if it sells to a studio, that doesn't mean it'll get made.) People like Gloria's family don't really know how to play by the industry's rules, which is why they scramble around trying in their talentless way to make a vastly inferior product all on their own and then consider it "sucessful" when they get anyone based in New York or L.A. to speak to them. -___-;

If only she actually had some (long past) achievements, she and her enabling parents might get some "What the hell are they thinking? How far can they fall?!" attention like the Lohans.

If only she could ingratiate herself with some actual famous people, she might get some tabloid attention like the Kardashians.

As it is, she can't do much better than...us. You go, Gloria!

Yeah, we're the closest thing to a loyal fanbase she has. Wow, that is terrible.

She's still on this? Isn't she college aged already? I don't understand why she's still acting like a twelve year old -_-

I was following her twitter feed for a little while. She's so VAGUE about the movie. Few months back I couldn't tell if she was saying that they finished shooting or had just started.

I almost can't wait to see the movie. There photos circulating around from the filming look...really, REALLY terrible >.>'

She supposedly graduated from high school last year. She's eighteen. It's probably hard to act your age if your family is constantly coddling you and making you think you're a superstar, though ( ... )
