PROVIDENCE, R.I. --Brown University's library boasts an unusual anatomy book. Tanned and polished to a smooth golden brown, its cover looks and feels no different from any other fine leather.

But here's its secret: the book is bound in human skin.A number of prestigious libraries --

Me too! Actually, that was the first thought, the second was "what kind of book would I want to be bounding when I die?" :-) I dont think anyone in my family would want it, though.

That Vesalius is one of the books is just awesome in its rightness.

I love how at first they try to dismiss it as mostly incidental, just a matter of economy, but the subject matter of the text within is a pretty clear betrayal. Tacking on human skin to really emphasize the consequences of the left of the middle stuff inside. It's obviously quite deliberate!
