CVICU: Night float #1

Jan 10, 2015 00:17

I'm really bored right now and still have 6-7 more hours of work left, so I thought I'd take the time to post random stuff. Here's hoping everything stays quiet; I've seen 2 codes with 2 deaths in the past 2 days, and I don't need to see any more ( Read more... )

Yeah! If the Japan plan pans out, we should definitely meet up. I'll likely update with the progress of everything once I figure them out. Right now, I don't even know if I'll be able to request vacation time around then, yet. But at some point, I wanna do a proper Japan trip.

Small world: I was just visiting someone in the CVICU yesterday! Thankfully not someone in about-to-code condition. Hopefully there weren't any more codes last night... though that might be a long shot hope.

Your travel plans sound very exciting. I hope everything comes together nicely! Exploring places with people who are equally excited/interested is a huge plus, definitely. January must be a good planning month because I've been trying to figure out my own travel plans for this year as well recently. I have a block of time that I have designated for a longer vacation (six days off), but currently I have no plans for what to do during said time or even when to use said time.

Well, I'll be in the CVICU all month, so if you see a tall Asian female in scrubs and a white coat, it's probably me. And I'm sure it won't be the last time Speech is consulted in the CV. Stop by and say hi!

Yeah, I'm excited to be going with friends. I haven't taken too many trips with friends and I wanna do so while we're all still relatively young and adventurous. And I'm doing my planning now 'cause I need to occupy my bleak winter days with something more "sunny" and fun. I recommend you use your vacation days to do somewhere warmer. I'm literally flying out to the Bay Area for 1.5 days later this month just to escape the cold.

Haha will do! Our unit doesn't get a lot of referrals from the non-head/neck cancer floors, but we do occasionally. This time, though, I was actually visiting a friend/colleague who'd just had a surprise heart attack. So no therapy involved, thank goodness for that.

I'm working on planning my trip to Florida for my friend's wedding... except that's not until May. The odd thing is, though, that just thinking about how I'll be able to take that vacation is helpful for getting through the cold days.
