There was something to be said about the state in which Barr Dunstan found herself these days. A lot to be said, actually. One of them was, that she wasn’t sure what her state was, at least not in its entirety. Sure, she knew, without a doubt, that she was in lust, with Dean Thomas, but she also knew that it was more than that, though how much more it was, that’s what she didn’t know. Since that afternoon in The Bean, where things had moved past friendship for them, they had spent as much time together as they could, although, they had still spent every day apart, each of them working on their own project. Maybe ‘spent every day apart’ was a bit of a stretch, since either one of them usually brought lunch to the other. Some days they ate the lunch, some days they simply talked like they used to, and then there was the majority of days, when there wasn’t much eating or talking, at least not together ( ... )

Dean would have preferred to stay in the bed on a rare afternoon off doing things that people new to the whole shagging like madpeople do but Barr in her infinite wisdom decided that a jaunt to the newly opened Quidditch shop and the restaurant with no name across the street from it. The idea still had Dean in a tither but he'd begrudgingly accepted and put his big boy pants on before they headed out to see what was what at the new store or stores or restaurant ( ... )

Barr’s forehead wrinkled in frown sympathetic with Dean’s brief and unsuccessful encounter with Quidditch. “Aww,” she said with a bit of a coo as she gave his hand a squeeze, then draped his arm over her shoulder as a sort of consolation price. “I remember Katie Bell’s name,” she admitted, “her name was all over the Hospital Wing when she got cursed.” In a way she was embarrassed not to remember Dean’s name from any of the matches, but then again, she hadn’t paid that much attention to Quidditch, and this way, however horribly Dean had played, he wouldn’t have to worry about her having seen it… or remembered it. “At least you didn’t injure yourself,” she tried consolingly, “of course, if you had, then I might have remembered it.” She sent him a smile, before she let him steer her over to where people were mounting brooms ( ... )

“She was a hell of a player, the best Chaser on the team after she recovered from her curse and Ginny was better than me too. I wasn’t so sure about a girl named Demelza or something or other.” Dean shrugged, then gave Barr a small smile. “It doesn’t matter though cause in the end, I got the beautiful princess and I’m going to save the bathhouse from its peril and woe.” He felt bad for his diatribe when Barr mentioned Katie being in the hospital before he replied. “That was bad form. She didn’t deserve that for sure or my jealousy now ( ... )

Clint had been in his office, going over last minute details as he waited for the grand opening of Snitches. Stretching his long limbs, he stood up and headed for the front of the store. The place was polished, organized and full of fantastic memorabilia that they'd managed to pull together and sort through. Of course, there was the beautiful brooms they'd worked on and designing a new broom had been a test of everything he'd had but with the help of Chang and Alicia, he thought that they'd managed to come up with a great line ( ... )

Clint’s voice brought Alicia back from her own little sweet reverie. The dreamy smile was instantly replaced by a bright grin. “Thank you,” she said and looked up at him as she accepted the drink he handed her. “Of course it’s going to be a smashing success.” There wasn’t a hint of doubt in her voice as she clinked her glass to his, “it’s our shop, so how couldn’t it? Cheers.” With a satisfied smile, she drank from the glass, glad that somebody had kept in mind that she needed to at least drink a bit today ( ... )

He smiled and raised his glass with hers. "Cheers to you Spinnet and congratulations on a wonderful idea," he said, grinning. "With a bit of help you managed to pull it off rather nicely." His voice was teasing and he nudged her side. "All joking aside," he said. "It's quite fantastic ( ... )

Alicia couldn’t help but snort into her drink as a sudden giggle overcame her. “Oh, well, obviously you’ll be striving to have this gorgeous body in there,” she and shifted her hips slightly to strike a subtle pose, before she gestured to the people outside with a nod of her head. “I was talking about the more unfortunate sods who’ll actually have work to achieve my level.” With a roll of her eye she waved her hand and with it shook off the pretense attitude, and replaced it with a genuine grin ( ... )

Oliver had faced more nerve wracking situations but this opening was getting to him in a way that even playing in the playoffs for the United hadn’t bothered him like this and he understood why. The simple fact was that he’d known from a very young age that he was a brilliant Keeper and would one day be a pro and a damn good one at that. But this adventure was different because he didn’t really know how the hell he’d do as a cook or even the part owner of a restaurant ( ... )

Tracey turned away from the steamer and dried her face with a towel. It was hot in here, stifling really. The temperature had been steadily rising all morning as the drink orders increased. A combination of people, drinks and sunlight, no doubt. Tracey hadn't had much time to dwell on it. Instead, she'd moved as fast as her fingers would allow, mixing, steaming, dripping, filling and serving whatever beverages were asked for, and racking up quite a bit in the tip jar ( ... )

Oliver leaned back and placed his hands on the inner edge of the fountain. He was tired but in a good way because it seemed that their opening had been a success and he hoped it would carry for the life of the restaurant. Oliver sniffed his shirt and wrinkled his nose. He smelled like a combination of onions, garlic and whatever the violet stain was on his apron. Oliver chuckled and then made a mental note to shower before he saw Alicia again ( ... )

It had been a long evening. A brilliant evening, that still wasn’t over - only slowing down slightly customer-wise - but it had still been a long evening, and Alicia was getting tired. Her ankles had swollen a bit and more than anything she just wanted to sit down, or at least get her feet cooled down.

She had just finished off servicing the last customer in the line, when she toed off her sneakers, leaving them pushed in under the counter, and called out to Warrington and Cho to please keep an eye on things while she went to feel human again. It annoyed her a bit, that she could go so relatively unaffected by her pregnancy, yet the fatigue and the swollen ankles when she had been on her feet for too long, or hadn’t had the chance to just sit down and relax. Her energy had gone down a bit, as much as she hated to admit it.

A bright smile spread on her face when she spotted Oliver taking a break on the side of the fountain. Granted Tracey was right there next to him, but at least she had been smart enough not so sit so close she was ( ... )

Su couldn't help it. Every time something opened in Annwn, she found herself there. Today was a coffee shop. Coffee - the grossest thing on the planet. But they would probably have water she could drink at least. Her face a blank expression, she walked toward the newly opened cafe that had a Quidditch shop near it. What was with wizards and Quidditch anyway? She had never been one for Quidditch. She'd not that she couldn't, but she really didn't like flying to begin with. She preferred Apparating to wherever she wanted to go. It was simpler really.

But seeing another Quidditch supply shop in Annwn made Su feel strange. Like the town was growing in miles instead of feet. She looked at with relish. This town was her home now, and she was happy to see it growing.

"My home..." she breathed, looking at the shop with a happiness spreading in her chest.
