Alicia let her head fall back against the wall behind her, allowing her to glance up at the sign that was now hanging above the entrance to the shop. Yup, it still looked good, and nodding in satisfaction she let her eyes gaze out across the rest of The Courtyard. The gate leading in from the street looked as it always had, only now the plants around it had been trimmed and tamed, creating a natural division between the part of The Courtyard that had been set up for the Quidditch shop and the other part which served as the café area, though still it managed to create a sort of binding between the two areas. It connected them, making them look like they were truly meant to be together; a sort of unity between Quidditch and food.

The place had been in the making for months. In her case since the end of January, though still it seemed as only yesterday she had come here with Oliver, and had found that the key she’d been given for Christmas fit and unlocked the door that was now open, inviting people into the shop. She checked her watch as people began coming through the gate from the street. Right on the dot. The fliers they had put up and had obnoxiously attached to people’s Owls at the Owl Post Office had announced the opening of the two places, as well as set the time, 5 pm, and… it had worked up, because now the people were beginning to show up.

Getting up from the small bench, she looked up at open space above her. Six rings were hovering up there, three in each end of the small space, ready for any scrimmage match people might like to join, once they tried out the new brooms. Along the boundary that Angelina had put up, small lights were hovering, to mark how far people could go. These wouldn’t be permanent, but for tonight, it wouldn’t do to have anybody turn blue, simply because they got overly excited. The sky beyond it was clear, which was also good. Rain and cold weather could take the fun out of matches, and even more so out of the initiative to get them going. Briefly Alicia wondered if she should ask Angelina to add a rain repellent of some sort to the boundary, but dropped the thought when she remembered the still empty buildings surrounding her. With a bit of remodeling, the building next to the gate could be turned into an indoor flying range, simply for trying out the brooms in case of bad weather. That way, Warrington would still have free reign over the building opposite from the one she had just booked for the testing… in her mind.

As a young couple actually entered the shop, the tight feeling she had had in her stomach all day subsided, and she began to relax. They really were open now, and she had better get inside to see how it was going. She looked across The Courtyard, towards the café, and was happy to see people going there as well. With a smile, she waved slightly at Oliver, before she turned to walk inside her own shop. An odd fluttering in her stomach, though, had her stop. This was a new one. Nothing at all like the tight feeling of anticipation and slight nervousness about the opening. It felt almost like… bubbles, like somebody was gently tickling her on the inside. It lasted only a few seconds, though it still made her smile, almost secretly to herself, as her hand came up to rest on her stomach. She might not be showing yet, but at least now she knew that it was real; she had felt it herself.

She had to remember to tell Oliver, but for now, he had a café to open, and she had a shop to tend to. Later, she was sure of that.
