But this time, Pansy hadn't been in the shower. She had just been enjoying a quiet night, reading a book when someone had decided to abuse her door by knocking on it. Loudly. She didn't really intend to answer it. Let whoever was out there think she was either taking a shower or not home at all. Tonight, she didn't want to think about business or trouble in town. All she wished for was a quiet night to herself for once.

Of course, when she recognised the shout at Seamus', she frowned. What the hell was he doing here? Pushing her reading glasses up her nose, she stood up and went to open the door. Pulling it open, she quirked an eyebrow. "Alright, Seamus, why are you trying to bang down my door?"

She glanced him over, her frown deepening. 'Alright, why is he wearing something that looks like an actual clean shirt?' Her gaze went back to his face, as she removed her reading glasses. "And why are you dressed up?"

Seamus grinned stupidly on instinct, as was his habit with her. She quirked her eyebrow and rolled her eyes, as was her habit with him. Then she frowned and he was confused.

"I owe you a dinner, remember? Aren't you hungry?" he asked cautiously. "I'm starved. We can go anywhere."

He noticed that she wore glasses and cocked his head. She looked different with them on. Nicer. Less threatening and more approachable. "Nice glasses. I didn't know you wore them."

Pansy blinked. Of course, she hadn't forgotten Seamus owed her dinner, but she figured that either Seamus had been the one to forget, or that he simply didn't want to take her out to dinner. So she had settled for not talking about it and staying away from the Beedle Bar for a while, too. After all, if he didn't want to, then why should she pressure him?

But apparently, he hadn't forgotten, as indicated by his presence at her flat door. A smirk crossed her lips at his question. "What took you so long?" She beckoned for him to come in, taking a step back. "Of course, you could've warned me beforehand, so I would have had the chance to wear something... not so sloppy."

She glanced down at her faded jeans and old jumper. No, she couldn't really go out like this, now could she?

"Only for reading." She played with the glasses for a while, before putting them down on the table. Heaving a sigh, Pansy glanced over her shoulder. "Give me a minute to get dressed properly, will you?"

Sure, he'd been avoiding her and trying not to think about her for the past few weeks, but it was just the Seamus way to fix his mistakes by pretending that they didn't happen. It was a long, difficult process, hiding from someone that lived across the hall. He was tired, and also, Dean was always busy doing art stuff, or with the girl, or both. He was bored. Pansy was weird, but she made things interesting ( ... )

Dean's concept of going out to eat normally consisted of food in wrappers, boxes or if he was lucky, newspaper. He was used to a slightly pungent, vomity smell or the clean linen or the fact the fork tines weren't bent at odd angles or the spoons didn't have some type of white crap on it. But he'd promised to take Barr out and since he'd had Chinese, Pub food and Indian over the past few day, that left Leonardo's and he was perfectly happy with that ( ... )

Meeting with Su earlier that day, had been both developing and revealing. They had gotten a lot of things done, but even more things discussed and pulled out into the open. To Barr’s surprise she had found that as much as she had been scared of what had happened during the kidnapping, it didn’t upset her anymore, so when Dean came over, after Su had left, and had invited her out to dinner, she had happily agreed, and had quickly changed into something dressier, than her slinking around at home clothes ( ... )

"You like your white wine, don't you?" Seamus commented, glaring at the waiter's back as he walked away. Pansy had gotten that the first time they met up.

Pansy suddenly grinned widely and Seamus looked over his shoulder to see what was up. He stared for a moment, suddenly feeling a severe lack of oxygen in his brain. Maybe he was just crazy. It must have just been some other tall, gangly-looking dork looking flustered at the guy with the guest list.

Then Pansy called out to him, confirming Seamus's biggest fear. He stared at her, a look of horror on his face for just a split second. He'd been betrayed.

He sunk low in his seat, inching his menu over his face.

Yeah, now you're invisible...

"Fancy them being here. Right now. At this exact moment in time. This completely random, convenient, uh pleasant point in time," he said in a strangled voice.

Pansy had noticed Dean had brought someone with him. Of course, he had, it would be a little silly to push your way through a crowded restaurant if you were all by yourself. Pansy gave Dean's friend a subtle glance and had to admit she looked pretty, wearing that dress and those high heels. Suddenly, she felt a little annoyed with herself for being dressed so plainly, but she shoved those thoughts away. After all, this was not a date, so why bother, right ( ... )

Seamus’ shame baffled Barr for a moment, making her look at him with confusion in her eyes. No, she didn’t like intruding on other people’s dates, but to see him basically hiding from them? Ahh. Realisation began dawning on her when the woman he was with introduced herself. Pansy Parkinson. She remembered the name from school, but more recently from Dean talking about Seamus and his crush on ‘The Parkinson Bird’. From the sounds of it, Seamus had been taking some verbal beatings for his… crush? Crush-like friendship he had with her.

“Barr Dunstan,” she said with a soft smile as she took Pansy’s hand. “Duzhe pryjemno (Nice to meet you).” She looked to the empty chairs that Pansy had offered them, and sent her a slightly apologetic look, as her fingers tightened around Dean’s. “Are you certain?”

"Of course they're certain." Dean jumped at the opportunity, pulling Barr's chair out and waiting until she was seated before he pulled out his own and sat down next to Seamus. This was priceless and for the first time ever, Dean didn't feel the telltale nervousness he normally had. There wasn't any reason because he and Barr were officially dating and they weren't running off to hide their feelings. "Thank you so much, Pansy. You look absolutely radiant." He nodded his head toward her, then put his arm around his still shrinking mate. "You too, love. I mean thank you. What a surprise. You here with Pansy. I think that's brilliant." He smiled easily and then tucked his hand under Seamus' arm and pulled him up. "There you go. You're short enough without the slinking down ( ... )

Outside the door to the ladies’ room, Barr took a moment to compose herself and calm down. There was no need to bring in further agitation, simply because a waiter had dared question her actions.

“Pansy?” she asked softly once she had pushed the door open and stepped inside. “Pansy, are you in here?” For a moment it struck her, that Pansy just as well might have apparated home from in here. Now that she thought about it, she didn’t know if Pansy had her wand with her.

When Pansy had walked into the ladies' room, it was too unfortunate that two other girls had been there giggling. Apparently, their evening was a lot more pleasant than hers had turned out to be. They had looked up to stare at her, but had left quickly at Pansy's glare. She leaned against the sinks, running a hand through her hair.

Part of her could understand Seamus' initial reaction. After all, going to a restaurant like Leonardo's with some Slytherin bird who had made life hell at school was likely to rise some questions. But Pansy had changed and she had thought she'd proven that well enough. After all, Seamus was still the only one in town who knew where she'd been the last few years. 'Married in France.' She bitterly thought. But on the other hand, she couldn't control her anger. She felt ashamed because apparently Seamus was embarrassed to be seen with her. That hurt, more than it probably should. It hurt that Seamus might still see her like the same girl she'd been in school, that she was still the same Slytherin bitch and ( ... )

Barr’s eyes landed on Pansy, and seeing her almost defeated posture against the sink, it struck her how much it must have taken her to walk out with the sort of dignity she did.

“That was quite the exit you made back there,” she said as she walked up to her, pulling a paper napkin out of her purse and transfigured it into a glass. “Aguamenti,” she murmured, filling it with chilled water before she handed it to Pansy.

Handing the glass to Pansy, she let her eyes run over Pansy’s face, just to get an idea of what she had to go by. “You and Seamus should have had tonight to yourselves,” she said softly, “I’m sorry it turned out the way it did.”

Pansy couldn't help but snicker at the thought of how her exit must have looked. She shook her head and took the glass of water from her. "Thank you." She sighed, before sipping the liquid. She was silent for another few minutes, the events of tonight going through her mind again.

"You make it sound like it's a date." Pansy gave a wry smile. "It's not your fault. Seamus was just being a prat." She took another sip from the water, before putting the glass down. Looking up at the ceiling, she reached for one of the paper towels lying on the side of the sink, starting to shred them into pieces. "It's just that this entire night has not gone quite according to plan." She frowned. "Not that there was a plan to begin with."

"Sorry mate if I fucked things up for you and Parkinson." Dean offered after a moment when he saw the girls take off to the loo. He grabbed a passing waiter and order two, no four ales. "I didn't think it was anything serious between the two of you since you didn't have that cocksure I have a secret look to you whenever you're trying to keep something from me."

The waiter arrived with the ales and he passed Seamus two of them. "I should have kept away but on the other hand, you were a right git." Dean took a sip of his ale and then continued. "You could have played it off instead of acting like I just hopped in the bed with the two of you. We've always been like that, Seamus. We interfere in each other's lives because we're a pair of nattering hens who can't help themselves."

He sighed and leaned back in his chair. "But it's my fault and when Barr comes back, we'll leave." Dean tilted his head at Seamus then, curiosity overcoming him as he asked. "Just what is the deal with you and Pansy?"

Seamus was so startled by Pansy's outburst that his arse cheeks propelled him nearly a foot in the air. He blinked owlishly as she stormed off to the loo, Barr not far behind her. It was watching them go when he realized that there were a whole bunch of restaurant patrons staring at their table ( ... )

Dean winced under Seamus' assault. He had truly and well fucked it up for his mate, worse that that time during sixth year when he'd jumped into bed with one of his roomies who shall remain nameless to tell them there was ice cream in the Great Hall for lunch, not realizing he had a tart with him. That had been completely bollocksed up, especially since he'd landed on the poor girl who was flattened quite nicely ( ... )
