"You like your white wine, don't you?" Seamus commented, glaring at the waiter's back as he walked away. Pansy had gotten that the first time they met up.

Pansy suddenly grinned widely and Seamus looked over his shoulder to see what was up. He stared for a moment, suddenly feeling a severe lack of oxygen in his brain. Maybe he was just crazy. It must have just been some other tall, gangly-looking dork looking flustered at the guy with the guest list.

Then Pansy called out to him, confirming Seamus's biggest fear. He stared at her, a look of horror on his face for just a split second. He'd been betrayed.

He sunk low in his seat, inching his menu over his face.

Yeah, now you're invisible...

"Fancy them being here. Right now. At this exact moment in time. This completely random, convenient, uh pleasant point in time," he said in a strangled voice.

Pansy had noticed Dean had brought someone with him. Of course, he had, it would be a little silly to push your way through a crowded restaurant if you were all by yourself. Pansy gave Dean's friend a subtle glance and had to admit she looked pretty, wearing that dress and those high heels. Suddenly, she felt a little annoyed with herself for being dressed so plainly, but she shoved those thoughts away. After all, this was not a date, so why bother, right ( ... )

Seamus’ shame baffled Barr for a moment, making her look at him with confusion in her eyes. No, she didn’t like intruding on other people’s dates, but to see him basically hiding from them? Ahh. Realisation began dawning on her when the woman he was with introduced herself. Pansy Parkinson. She remembered the name from school, but more recently from Dean talking about Seamus and his crush on ‘The Parkinson Bird’. From the sounds of it, Seamus had been taking some verbal beatings for his… crush? Crush-like friendship he had with her.

“Barr Dunstan,” she said with a soft smile as she took Pansy’s hand. “Duzhe pryjemno (Nice to meet you).” She looked to the empty chairs that Pansy had offered them, and sent her a slightly apologetic look, as her fingers tightened around Dean’s. “Are you certain?”

"Of course they're certain." Dean jumped at the opportunity, pulling Barr's chair out and waiting until she was seated before he pulled out his own and sat down next to Seamus. This was priceless and for the first time ever, Dean didn't feel the telltale nervousness he normally had. There wasn't any reason because he and Barr were officially dating and they weren't running off to hide their feelings. "Thank you so much, Pansy. You look absolutely radiant." He nodded his head toward her, then put his arm around his still shrinking mate. "You too, love. I mean thank you. What a surprise. You here with Pansy. I think that's brilliant." He smiled easily and then tucked his hand under Seamus' arm and pulled him up. "There you go. You're short enough without the slinking down ( ... )

Seamus felt his ears burn in shame. Not because Dean was all but galloping over with Barr, but because of the look Pansy had given him. She looked hurt, for just one fleeting moment, before leveling him with a cool glare. Seamus knew that look pretty well. It was very similar to the one his mum gave him when he did something bad in good company. It was that "Okay, I want to murder you in your sleep later, but be good until this is over or else I will not hesitate to kill you right where you stand" look. Still, he hadn't imagined the hurt look, and it made him feel like the lower than a flobberworm stuck to the bottom of a shoe ( ... )

"Enchantée. (Nice to meet you)" Pansy replied with the same smile. So this was the girl Dean had been so worried about when people had disappeared. Wait. Didn't this also mean that Barr was living at the same floor in the Weasley's building? Well, so much for trying to figure out who the mysterious person was renting the other flat.

Pansy managed to ignore Seamus' explanation and his attempt to some sort of apology maybe. She was not pleased, not in the slightest. She gave Dean as much of a smile she could muster. "You're welcome. There's always room for friends at the table." She gave Seamus a foul look. Pansy ignored Dean's comments to Seamus, not even thinking about jumping in and giving Seamus a hand. Let him worm his own way out of this one. 'Serves him right.'When Dean attempted to keep the conversation going by revealing their occupations, Pansy shifted in her seat, turning to face Barr. "Physiotherapist? That's interesting. I didn't know there were magical physiotherapists out there. Or do you work the Muggle way?" Pansy was ( ... )

Barr wasn’t certain who she felt worst for; Pansy for Seamus’ obvious embarrassment, or Seamus for the glares Pansy was shooting him from time to time. She couldn’t blame either of them. Leonardo’s was a nice place, and for Seamus to come here with Pansy meant that it was something special, in one way or the other, so if they had planned on an evening with just the two, no wonder that he was embarrassed… she had heard how Dean and he would rib each other when it came to girls. And for Pansy to see this embarrassment in somebody who she had come here with… well, that would make even the best feel bad. Deciding not to get into that, she sent Seamus a genuine smile of gratitude that he wasn’t sending them away, before she took the menu that Pansy handed her ( ... )

Dean was fairly oblivious for a few moments as Pansy handed him the menu card and he looked for the meatiest, most easily pronounceable meal on the menu. "Spaghetti." He said proudly and then put his menu card down. Dean glanced over at Seamus and could almost feel his tiny imaginary feet kicking him in the shins. He winced and sat stock still, trying to figure this out ( ... )

Pansy was sending him nasty glares over the table that reminded him way too much of her old Hogwarts self. This time, though, they were more than deserved. Seamus probably should have given up on making amends at that point, faked some pleasantries for Barr and even Dean's sake, but he figured he'd try one more thing. How much more trouble could he get into ( ... )

Pansy was about to ask Barr some more about her occupation when Seamus bloody Finnigan decided to open his mouth and say something inappropriate. About both Barr and Dean, actually. Pansy's mouth shut with an audible click and she slowly turned her head to look at him, all but slamming her hands on the table and standing up, nearly causing her chair to topple over.

While Seamus was already going on about how Barr and Dean should stay, Pansy wished nothing but the same, but not without speaking her mind first. She had to grind her teeth together to keep from snarling at him. She wanted a public scene as much as Seamus did, but some things just had to be said.

"I've had it with you, Seamus Finnigan." Her voice was low and soft, but the tone in it ice cold. Her eyes narrowed to slits and her nails dug into the table cloth. "I am bloody sick of you acting like a prat. If this is how you behave in front of your friends, then you even have less manners than I thought you did." She paused, pushing herself away from the table and crossing ( ... )

Barr watched Dean’s hands as they fidgeted on the table. She wanted to reach over and touch them, make him relax, but he had let go of her hand and with the mood as it was at the table, actions of endearments didn’t seem at all fitting ( ... )
