I've been a fan of Supernatural of a long while now. But, Season 4 has grabbed me and totally twisted me up. That goes back to how awful the summer was with Dean stuck in hell, I think. Comet McNaught
I finally got the timing right to see something fantastic! I went to Niehardt Park at the top of town at 5:30 p.m. and walked part way round to the West-SW high point. I was smart enough to pick up the binoculars on the way out the door and they made all the difference. Here's a local news report. My view of the comet itself was better than in ( Read more... ) -
Water Banner - competition #14
My turn to host the banner competition at icine.org! I chose "water" for my theme and am having plenty of fun seeing the entries come in. I went without giving any more guidance than the requirement that water be in the banner. It seemed to be a decent spark to post old banners that would have qualified for the category.

Africam -- African Watering Hole webcam
Goodness, I'm enjoying this Africam site so much that I started a thread for sharing it with my icine friends! As I said there, the audio feed is a huge part of the attraction. I find it's a great background track. (And thanks to RJ, I now know how to grab screen caps on the ibook. )

I "settled" for taking a picture of the post office carport hours before Sho's challenge deadline. He gave us transportation for a theme and I'd been carrying the camera around for a couple days hoping for inspiration. It's a bit big for the front page, so....

no superheroes for me?
Wow. I went through my dvds looking for a "superhero movie" that I could use for the next banner round at icine. I have two. That's it. Batman Begins and Spiderman. (I have Buffy/Angel on dvd, but need to stick with film.) After that, I'd have to stretch to Mary Poppins, or River as a weapon, or the chick from Fifth Element as super-characters ( Read more... )
