Water Banner - competition #14
My turn to host the banner competition at icine.org! I chose "water" for my theme and am having plenty of fun seeing the entries come in. I went without giving any more guidance than the requirement that water be in the banner. It seemed to be a decent spark to post old banners that would have qualified for the category.
I'm not sure which one I will end up entering myself, but it won't be any of the these that I already posted in the thread even though they are new.
This is one I rather like from Battlestar Galactica ep1.02 - Water.
This one's also from BSG -1.02 - Water. I did it several times, and believe it or not, this is the improved version. I had to teach myself several tricks to get this to happen.... rotate the base 7 degrees, cover the old display text, insert 'icine.org,' and rotate the whole thing back to straight. I'm proud as can be of it even while recognizing its poor execution.
This is one I shared with Barty hoping to tempt him into entering. No luck with that so far. But, I did pick up and install BSG and Indiana Jones fonts along with the 900 that RJ shared with the board! The cool thing about this banner for me was stumbling upon the ability to put gradients in the font. My control is extremely limited, and I forgot to shadow the text, but I know it's possible.
And, one from Pride and Prejudice (miniseries). I had trouble finding a drippier cap of Darcy or I might have played longer with this idea.
