Update: Fic and General.

I hope everyone is having a good Sunday and father's day. I think of all the dads among the celebs I admire and know I will be seeing some cute pics to cheer me up. I'm glad a lot of shows are on hiatus so those dads can be at home enjoying their family. I wish the same was true of everyone.

In general news. I still love living on the coast. I ( Read more... )

Thank you. Yes, the conservative government here really is a wannabe GOP. The bad news just keeps hitting us from all over the world. In theory, this is the time we need fiction to give us heroes and hopeful endings but it's hard to imagine. Letting go of Inheritance, I hope will allow me to do it in other worlds.

Eek. I do have an external hard drive, I must back up this week. I was curious about managing to put HD photos online for sharing without having to reduce the quality/size - is that only possible with a hefty subscription?

You know I'm always here with pompoms for whatever you write. I'd encourage you to just go on with it as a WIP and enjoy it. And let Inheritance simmer for a while. Maybe your fic world can figure a way out of the stew we're in--or not.

I've got a timestamp I've been promising for *years* that, mired in BB right now I've got all kinds of energy for--I just can't spare the diversion while under deadline. So I kind of get wanting to work on things at your own pace.

Anyone familiar with your writing who's begun Inheritance will be grateful and will pounce on new material whether it's now, a year from now, or two or three years down the road.

OOh, that sounds interesting. I am so proud of you for getting that BB sorted this year. I also am pompom waving and here for cheerleading and alpha-ing if you need it.

I would love to see pictures!! I lived near London (in the early 60's) and it was beautiful!! But I never got to see the coast! So I would love to see what you see!!!

My daughter went to New Zealand for 3 months and she took thousands of pictures!! I burned them to DVD's and also have an external drive.

Leaving Inheritance on the back burner and working on your current story is cool. Anything you write is awesome!!!

*blushes8 Tahnks you.

My childhood and early adulthood was living near London and working in Kensington. I will always adore London - it must have been amazing in the 60's when there was so much change and vibrancy. What a time to have been there! I am 300 miles North of London but on the main train line and routes so it is accessible.

I must back up to my external drive soon. Thanks for the reminder!

I know about dropped stories. I have a few that were (I thought) shaping up nicely before the muse said "forget it!" Not much one can do about that, sadly. :)

Hope you enjoy the sea trip! Sounds awesome.

OMG NEVER let stopping a WIP feel like failure. Good God, some of the greatest works in literature were formerly abandoned WIPs! Just go where the muse leads you. I KNOW you’ll write something fabulous!
